Had the great pleasure of seeing Blondie at Scarborough Open Air Theatre last night, fantastic show, Debbie Harry, legend and icon has still got it at nearly 78 years old, Clem Burke what a drummer he is, massively under rated, and Glenn Matlock plays a mean Bass guitar. Special mention to the support The K’s, never seen them before but they were excellent

I heard a recording of 'Atomic' from their IOW set, last weekend.
The music was perfect but Debbie's voice was terrible. Out of breath, out of tune, unable to hit the high notes.
I felt embarrassed listening to it. However, with hindsight, it was probably the last song in the encore after an hour long set in extremely high temperatures, so maybe I was judging her harshly.
I still love her as much as a 60 year old as I did as a 16 year old.

TV and video sound doesn’t do her live stuff justice, I got some on my phone last night, sounds nothing like the live sound. And at approaching 78, you still would wouldn’t you lol!

She never had the vocal capabilities of Shirley Bassey or Whitney Houston but Debbie Harry IS Blondie, and no one else could replace her in the band.

I said to the wife, the place is full of old people, then she reminded me I’m nearly 60 years old, it was then I realised that those oldies were probably around my age lol!
