Added time woes
« on August 05, 2023, 06:19:52 pm by Donnywolf »
What a mess that is going to be

First half little happened and Ref awards 3 minutes. Ok so far

Then on 2 minutes 57 seconds their bloke gets injured and it looked bad at first. So instead of common sense blowing whistle , Physios came on drinks came on , everybody and their dogs came on.

2 minutes later the bloke is fixed up , we get the ball back , it's in play for 5 seconds and he blows for HT. Really what a mess

2nd half plus 14. This is never going to work. A complete mess of a supposed way to stop time wasting. He blew whistle and waved an arm at their Keeper 3 times on the same goal kick and just as he decided to run and Yellow Card him the keeper launched it.

That would have stopped him at least but Ref didn't bother.

Thought it was a pisstake when the two players collided and both needed treatment, harrogate made a sub and he was brought straight on but because we didnt he had to wait the 30 seconds. Absolutely stupid rule.

It may stop time wasting now 14 minutes got applied. Teams will think twice.

I read the EFL bulletin on the other thread this morning and this eventuality was covered.

The rule is that if there is a head injury involving two players then neither has to go off the field once they recover.   The referee got this wrong.

He then compounded his mistake by correctly allowing the immediate substitution of the Harrogate player but keeping the Rovers player off the field for 30 seconds.

One of the other three officials should have pointed this out to him as Rovers were unfairly penalised in this instance.

It was the first game of league football the ref had ever officiated and it showed. Yet again we get a raw deal eg corrupt ref at Charlton in the play off semi final and similarly corrupt ref at Charlton in that game that got called off.

There will be confusion till people (Refs) get used to it but I can't see it stopping time wasting

There was plenty of time wasting going off , with keeper taking p**s , all Harrogate players booting ball away even at 0-0

Also we had the Multi ball mess when people kept throwing the ball that had gone into crowd back into play and one Harro player actually booted one back into the centre of Pitch when we were attacking with the "live" ball to get play stopped this taking danger away but also , wasting more time

I have a great solution to stop time wasting but I'm saying nowt till FIFA get in touch or start reading VSC Forum

They were tying boot laces at every opportunity too, just little clever ways to slow the play up.
