According to McCann Richard Wood has “never had a muscular injury in his career” and now he gets one after a few months at Rovers in a 20 year playing career… coincidence? Age?
That’s why Rotherham let him go , he was getting older and less fit and injuries take over . Short sighted signings like Woods leave no room for potential. They’re taking the place of prospects that could have been signed from lower league clubs . The defence in team is what you build your foundation on . Over the past few seasons we’ve ignored depth in the amount of players required for season over all . McCann on his budget is spending his costs too thinly .. hens why we’ve have 13 injured !!

He was 27 when we signed him. He'd played 119 games for Rotherham in 3 years. He played 44 matches the season before we signed him. He played 35 matches in his first season with us (the COVID-shortened season).

There's some absolute nonsense talked about him having been a liability. He got a horrific impact injury going all in on trying to score when one or two notable others were pulling out of challenges and jumping ship.

He was never an injury liability before that moment. He was a top end L1, lower end Championship player who played 80-90% of matches in a season. Since then, the lad has been spectacularly unlucky.

BST, ncrover and in the box are talking about Richard Wood.
I think you are getting confused by talking about Jon Taylor but quoting posts about Wood.

27 when we signed him? I assume you're not talking about Woods :-]]

Doh.

That'll teach me to post while I'm.having a shite in a coffee break in a meeting. I thought this was about Taylor. Apologies.

It’s a real pity that Miller had to have another operation on the same knee. It would have been interesting to see Ironside and him in the 352 system. Faal and Marsh still have a lot to learn. Millers done that and was leading scorer last season. We can only hope when he does come back he can recapture his best bits.

No wonder we're getting injuries left right and centre.
