Olowu, Biggins and Rowe

Gents - following the Notts County match I came on here and gave you all a right royal slagging and more or less wrote you all off

Firstly Mansfield away and now today you have proved me utterly wrong - fantastic performances from all 3 of you today lads, very well done indeed.

Past it hat Tommy Rowe, just like Billy Sharp was all those years ago.

I’m probably Biggins biggest critic, but he’s much improved the last two games

Oluwu has benefited not having to lookafter anderson

Consistency is the key word. But Olowu and Biggins in particular were very good today. Give Owen Bailey the captains armband already. Outstanding today against 3 of the best forwards in the league.

Compared to how they have been been playing they did well today.

I did think Olowu showed signs of his old self towards the last 20 mins. Sterry and Jones had to have a few words.

We still need better than them. 1 decent game in 10 means nothing.

Yes, carrying on from Friday Bailey had that back line organised, working up and down as a unit, rarely allowing MK to get in behind. Senior had that 'Thou shalt not pass' attitude whilst Olowo looked comfortable with everything in front of him being prepared to attack the ball when needed. Sterry and Bailey either side of him seems to be having a positive influence but still looks a bit shaky when he has to turn towards goal. Bailey's reading of the game was a joy to watch (apart from that wobble un the first half when he thought he was two feet taller), often nipping in to intercept giving his opponent no time to play.

Whilst Biggins still has his moments, getting turned like a kipper too easily, he did contribute quite alot helping keep the shape and being more certain with his passing. Close was a bit loose at times but kept things ticking over as did Rowe.

That first half showed playing with more purpose, opened things up and for once we capitalised as well as seeing a number of other chances slip.

A very encouraging controlled team performance overall with the work rate clearly there.

Agree with everything that has been said about our defence. The more I see Jamie Sterry the more I like him.

Agree but having 2 full backs playing in a proper back 4 is helping him play as a proper centre back.

The one noticeable thing today was the fact that we didn't try walking the ball into their net. i can't remember the last time we had so many shots from outside the area. Even Tommy Rowe's audacious effort from the half way line. More of the same at Arrowgate next Saturday please.

Agree but I wouldn't put the captaincy on Owen, just let him carry on doing what he's doing for now.

Thought that was Biggins with 40 + yarder?

According to BBC stats, 30% possession and 20 shots (3 goals), proper footy. MKD 70% possession….. that’s called farting around.

If you look at the players we have in midfield in particular, there is no benefit to us holding on to the ball. Holding possession is not good for us, or at least while Westbrooke and Close are not playing together.
