Enough chances there to have won comfortably.

Can’t say we didn’t have the chances to win that game.

The two, right in the middle of the goal should have been buried.

Ironside’s that the keeper deflected onto the bar could easily have gone in and Moly’s was a decent chance too.

We really need to be putting a higher percentage of chances like this away

Agreed grayx, on another day Ironside could have had a hat trick.
He doesn’t connect properly with the first chance, the keeper spreads himself well to block the second one and knows nothing about how he stopped the one in the second half.
We didn’t play as well as I had hoped we would but we certainly created enough chances to have won.

Yes  it's really frustrating. As poor as th3 game was, there were some encouraging signs and although we can say we should make our own luck, it's definitely deserting us when we need it most.

As said in another thread, McGrath had a sound debut. In the lead up to their go, we must have blocked two or three attempted crosses, but the one that evaded us seemed to evade McGrath who misjudged his leap and fell to the foot of their player. A cross like that has to be dealt with in the air.

Just one little misjudgement at the wrong end has cost us again.

At 0-0 it still would have been a disappointing result but a platform to work from with the new lads. That's still the same but it doesn't feel that way.

Is Anderson injured? Gone quiet on him last week or two.

Think it's harsh to say those chances should have been buried.  If they had been missing the target then fair enough but they were all good attempts on target and just plain unlucky that the keeper got lucky to get something in the way of all of them.  eight times out of ten at least one of those would have been a goal.  Yesterday was just plain bad luck.

The one where the Ball hit the keeper on the shoulder and then hit the bar was pure luck, keeper knew nothing about it

I didn't attend the game but looking at those highlights I reckon the Newport manager, along with every single Newport player, coach and supporter bought a Lottery ticket last night.

And Hurst fluffed the chance to follow up and make something of the loose ball.

Yet again we conceded after a throw in, the amount of times we do that is criminal.

A bit harsh on Hurst there.
He tried to hit a volley goalwards but it was a very difficult thing to do.
Not many L2 players could have executed that shot.
