Since we won 6 on the bounce in the league…

The Mansfield Moment season.

The miracle is still on. Fancy us against anyone at the moment.

Nice to have a bit of pride installed back in our football club, finally got a set of players that are willing to fight for the badge, it's united the fan base and given us hope for the following season.

Last time we won more than 6 on the bounce was in 1946-47

I didn't think I could remember it in my lifetime DU,but my memory is a bit hazy from that 46/7 season.
Too much ale probably.

We were actually very close to a record equalling run under Moore. In a run of 10 league games in 2020/21 we won nine with an annoying 1-0 home defeat to Shrewsbury sandwiched in the middle of a four game run and a five game run.

Well! In previous posts it has been identified that GM is much better than DM, and therefore we will not have that annoying loss in the middle and indeed win an extra one, 11 on the bounce…. And the way every team member played today (hunger, desire, work rate, covering for team mates) …. it’s doable, so buckle in and hold tight

In 2003-04 we had one defeat sandwiched between runs of 6 and 5 wins, so won 11 out of 12.

And I think Dutch also a draw before so in a 15 league game sequence we drew one (3-3) and lost one (1-0) to stop a monumental run of form.

Actually, I was still a child, and had to be accompanied by an adult, so BB and Wolfie used to take me.

Yes the 0-3 to 3-3 come back at Cambridge, and Paul Barnes missed a pen in the last minute

Is that when Tim Ryan scored a screamer?

Remember that game like it was yesterday. 30/09/2003 Tues night game.

3-0 down after 50 odd mins and came back to make it 3-3
Then we get a penalty and you would have put your house on Paul Barnes scoring but it was saved at the foot of the post.
That game set us up for a fantastic sequence of results which catapulted us to to think 2nd in the league.
Of course we went on to be Champions pipping Hull City to the title

It's weird how these spells creep up on you.

One minute everything is hit and miss. Then it clicks and it's only with hindsight that you know it had clicked. At the time it might have been a bit of luck or a brief improvement.

But when it happens, you've got to treasure it. Spells like this come around very, very rarely.

Agreed BST.

For some reason today, from the moment the game kicked off, I had a confident feeling that we would win.

The contrast to the reverse fixture at the Eco Power couldn’t have been greater. That defeat was humiliating.

Today, we totally bossed the game and Morecambe didn’t know what hit them.
Our fans seemed to know what was going to unfold; we just sang from start to finish with an almost arrogant swagger.

What an amazing turn around. Whatever happens between now and the end of the season, I’ll never forget this run of results and performances.
