You’ve mentioned him before NR but Josh Umerah from Hartlepool has the technical and physical attributes to play as a lone striker or in a 2 IMO.

Pulled off that lovely assist against us in the home game.

Out of contract in June and they’re off down.

Just been released by Hartlepool United.

Signed for Dagenham in the National League.

I wonder just how far our real fans would want the club to go.I don’t have any Sheff U mates but do have ex colleagues fans of Ipswich the other Brentford .It is very hard to get to watch Brentford these days says my colleague who has supported them for ocver 40 years from Overseas .The Ipswich guy on the verge of Premiership lives in Quebec but feels he has to buy a season ticket to have any chance of seeimg them  next season .
Most Premiership clubs are so far removed from their local communities thst they become remote .I wouldn’t ever want to lose Rovers community , family atmosphere .

This is worthy of its own thread "how far do we want to go"

I've always said we should be top end of league 1 bouncing to champ. That would do me. Certainly don't want much longer in League 2!

I’d love to see us in the prem, I just don’t get why you wouldn't.Yes this success brings issues for smallish clubs with limited ground space, but imagine us being there for two or three seasons and how the club could grow.
Realistically we should be just like Rotherham a league 1/ champ yo-yo club. (This was something SOD said we could and should be for a few years as we grow, before staying in the champ)

Rovers in the Prem for more than a single, desperate, season would be either the biggest miracle since 0 AD, or, cost a friendly billionaire a sizeable chunk of his wad.

How about stop moaning and trust in McCann. We sign 3 quality players no doubt all on decent wages as well and you still get morons having a moan about something

There's no pleasing those who don't want to be pleased.

I hope that the players recruited are "quality" and everything works out. Nothing is guaranteed, I had no idea who Jimmy O Connor, Richie Wellens or Brian Stock were before they started playing for us, and I don't know these three. It is good that business seems to be done early and that we have permanent contracts going in rather than loans. A goalie will be the clincher for me, but we may have to wait for a loan there I think.
