Legends game

Anyone go? Was away in Northampton yesterday so couldn't make it but keen to hear how the day and match was? Would've been great to see sir Francis again in a rovers shirt

My brother was playing as a fundraiser so the whole family was there. Great day and was able to mix with all the legends - got some great photos of me with Stocky, Martin Woods (I bought his shirt in the auction afterwards & we joked about his penalty at Newcastle!), Copps, Sir Francis, Greeny….etc as well as the Liverpool legends. Lots of money raised I suspect.

Good game, Liverpool dominated first half and were 3-2 up at HT, then went 4-2 up but after that Donny got on top and won 5-4.

Really great fun day which raised loads of cash for a worthy cause.

I couldn’t go but gave a tenner to a lad who wanted to play. He was trying to raise £600.

Second half, at one stage, there was a midfield of Green, Woods and Copps. Easy to see how we clawed the deficit back! Green is still perpetual motion!

6/5 to Donny. Classic game of two halves. Young & up & coming lad called Coppinger ran the show. Green & Wood were excellent with Jimmy O’Connor tidying up at the back.
I heard the crowd was 4305, with  the players staying around for ages after for photos & autographs. An excellent day.
