Moly

I don’t ever want to see him moved into the middle again.
Two strikers of that quality on the pitch and we take away our most potent supply line by moving him.

I think GM needs to be telling him, Sterry, Gibson, Fleming and Hurst to get the ball in the f**king box quicker! Getting tired of seeing them turn back then forward then back then forward then back before attempting a cross when the opposition is back in position.

Ably demonstrated by their first goal.

They did a job on him tonight. Kicked off the park from the first few minutes.

We need to find more ways to create chances when the wide players aren’t having any joy.

He is getting targeted by other teams and getting the rough treatment.
Their fans ret goal came about after a foul from a bad tackle on Moly and I get it that the ref tried to play an advantage but I think I am right in saying if no advantage came about the ref can go back to the original foul and give a free kick.
Even if I am wrong with that, the ref acknowledged the foul ( which was quite a bad one) so after the goal was scored could he have given a yellow card to the player who had fouled Moly?

It wasn't a bad foul, I'm on the fence if it was a foul at all but it's indicative of the modern game.

That said the "foul" was in the half way line, we retained possession and played two attacking passes getting to the edge of their box where Gibson lost the ball, then got out run when working back.

If we had scored or got a corner etc we would not be asking for the free kick.

This WAS NOT the refs issue or fault

After 2 passes he cant bring it back. Once we tried to take advantage it is all on us.
Do we go down the route of rugby union? They bring it back after 2 or 3 minutes.
Yes it was a foul but that didnt lead directly to the goal.

Molly is being targeted, but we as a team need to step up and find a way to get him into space or give the opposition something else to think about

They left a bit on him early and he didn’t have much impact after that.

Couldn't agree more. Frankly thought it was embarrassing clinging onto 'we should have had a free kick', he's only bothered once we've given the ball away. it was a great advantage played and Close for whatever reason just gave it to their right back. Not the ref's fault at all. It was an age before they had the ball. Close swings it in and Sharp scores and nothing is ever said about it again.

Fair, but I don't think there is an advantage there, that it was a difficult pass suggests there isnt an advantage.

There was a second occurrence where we took a tough foul and the ref played advantage for us having the ball at centre back in our own half. That's not advantage.

I do absolutely agree we gave the ball away too poorly but I don't think there was a strong advantage to be had. You get some you don't get some but overall the ref let them give Molyneux some very hard treatment and he seamt to be struggling to get full pace after that foul, it was a tough knock in to his calf and a yellow for me.

The ref was very poor I thought, that doesn't excuse why we lost but it didn't help.

And what are those short corners about? Play it short, let their defence move out 5 yards then when the cross comes in is overhit. Lost count how many times that happened last night

I can't believe even a referee would give advantage when Close had the ball, it was only ever going to go backwards or sideways.
