Rovers +
« on November 23, 2024, 03:15:37 pm by Barmby Rover »
Yet again the system has signed me out, with none of my prompting, will not accept my password and will not allow me to put a new one in despite it following all of the "rules" that it asks for. Yet again I am disenfranchised from following Rovers because the computer system set up to register people does not work. I am sure the Rovers site will not refuse to take my money however!

I’m listening to Radio Sheffield on a old radio at home on 104.1FM.

That’s really frustrating Barmby, just not good enough.

Barnby, radio Sheffield is free so why don’t you just listen to that.
Why would you pay for something that’s free elsewhere?

That's a fair point, but if you choose to pay for something, you expect it to work, or at least receive effective support in getting it to work. I have had similar problems, and have rather given up on it for now.

I have given up on it forever now. I will follow Rovers by looking for their results, and go when I can afford to (once or twice a season). I am gutted, I have been following Rovers since the 1960s but this is just unacceptable. What sort of organisation are they running here? Not one I want to pay in for, that's certain.

Barmby I feel your pain because when you can’t attend regularly you have to rely on this service as your ‘Plan B’ and it sounds like you’ve been let down.

It’s terrible that a fan like yourself has reached the end of your tether with the Rovers+ service and I hope the club can do something to bring you back on board with it.

I was having the same problems at logging in to Rovers+. It’s a very poorly designed website,  must be looked at, and certainly not used next season unless all these problems are sorted.

Also tried to listen to Radio Sheffield. Internet Radio including BBC Sounds will only let you listen to it for matches if you are in S Yorkshire. Bugger all use in Jockland.

Nor is West coast trains, Currently hacked off with an unused Match ticket, 2 unused train tickets and a frustrating website experience this afternoon.

And my golf is cancelled tomorrow.

And I came last in the bridge tournament last night.

And we only drew

And. I’m sounding like a grumpy old man!!

I’m in South Yorkshire mate and I can’t listen to online Radio Sheffield either.
It does say “not online” when I go to their website.
Sometimes commentary is on FM and other times on digital.
Today was on FM.
On nice days I can sit in the car to listen to our games on either FM or digital but today as it was wet and cold and the game was on FM I dug out and tuned in on an old radio that I have.
If it had been on digital I could have listened on the tv which picks up RS.

But hasn't responded at all to me. I'd better try again

Annoying when the technology is available, we pay fit but don't get. It's enough to drive anyone to a fire stick.
But, to put it in context, some of us have lived far from Donny for donkey's years and had to rely on premium phone line 'Doncaster Rovers Club call' before t'internet was available.
I listened to the Francis Tierny final at Stoke whilst 4,000 miles away sitting  alone with only rats for company late at night in the only place  I could find an Internet link.

Genuinely haven't had a single problem with it.

Main problem with Rovers+ is it replaced something that worked much better previously. Could hop through to the Audio with a couple of clicks once you were set up. Rarely failed apart from when there was local unavoidable ground issues with connections. The platform and service was very good.
Rovers+ is pretty crap. Never remembers you – Its like logging in from scratch every time and the actual interface has gone backwards on usability from where it was before. Clunky and erratic. Doubt any of it is easy fixes. And its not really something Rovers can rectify as they've bought in a system thats flakey.
