All this and yet… we won and sit second in the league. I reckon we’d have gladly accepted that at the start of the season. Imagine what’ll happen when we start playing…

Tough game today in shit conditions. Me and the boy were there. He’s undefeated in live games so far. A few observations:

I don’t know why we persist with this playing out from the back. It’s predictable and often the ball just comes straight back.

Olowu and McGrath are some partnership.

Maxwell doesn’t seem 100% fit.

Sterry was excellent today.

Joe Ironside is a warrior.

We seem to be lacking a proper bas**rd in midfield.

Mols and Hurst have bags of talent but really need to be having a pop at goal more, especially on days like today.

Actually enjoyed the game. Cold. Hard fought. And we won.

Billy Sharp - love.❤️

Get in covers up a poor performance

I don’t think the management team would think otherwise - whatever GM may say in public about the win, he’ll be very aware about the performance issues..

As would anyone who has watched a game or two in their lives. Unfortunately this is not the first time we have avoided defeat thanks only to good fortune and an opportunity which suited the special skills of Billy Sharp. We might wonder where we’d be in League 1 playing like we have for the last dozen or so games.

Posts like this are just nonsense, we’re 2nd in the table. We’ve not played well granted but we’ve got 7 points from 4 games over Xmas.

Up to 2nd for anyone who is counting

You would think we were second bottom from some comments.. if the form and performances continue like this we could still finish in the top 3.

Of course I can see we have much to improve on but where will we be if/when that happens?

You are entitled to your opinion, but only if your interest and pleasure in football begins and ends in the result.

Which bit of when I wrote “much to improve on” implies my interest and pleasure begins and ends with the result.??

McGrath was very brave going for the header to win the free kick

Second is, of course, an artificial position. There are  5 clubs that could overtake the Rovers if the stars fall that way.
It only needs two to do it and Rovers are out of the autos.

It’s not an artificial table, those games in hand could be against each other but either way there’s no guarantee the games will be won.
We saw that last season when we could’ve been overtaken numerous times by games in hand but the teams didn’t win them

Of course Dickos. That's why I wrote ".. if the stars fall that way". Did you miss that?
