It wouldn’t surprise me if this project was passed.
I seem to recall the new government (Raynor perhaps) saying that NIMBY objections wouldn’t be heard and that we were entering a period of business growth.
Also that green belt land would be permitted for building use.

Don't see why it wouldn't pass when huge swathes of farmland is giving way to solar farms.

Is it really going to cost that much? Where's the funding from? How would it ever make money back? Very strange.

I’ve bought a 25cm x 25cm plot for £25.

Think I did a similar thing in our last season at Belle Vue.

Still waiting for the sod….no pun intended.

My thoughts entirely.

But putting aside the cost of building such a facility where would the operating revenue come from? We wouldn’t use it,why would we? And I'm sure the vast majority of EFL clubs wouldn’t either.

EPL sides would have a need for it if they were travelling north to play a fixture and needed a base for the day before or day of the game, but Bawtry isn’t close to any EPL clubs. Throw in the competition from St George Park at Burton, which is a very comprehensive and all inclusive resort style facility and I can't see the business case.

I'd imagine his plan is to get Planning permission then sell it some gullible fool!

Looks like it would make a nice holiday park if the football venture doesn’t come off, potential to sell of the accommodation on all year round occupation and in essence , you’ve got residential then .

I think you're all missing the bigger picture here.
He's not looking at a national hub, more an international one, especially South America.
Get them over for so low altitude training, the ColumbiansPeruvians and Bolivians would be turning up in numbers. They'd bring there gear/kit with them, help Mark the white lines on the pitch, and suddenly it could be a real hub.
