Rotherham Away
« on August 27, 2025, 04:24:40 pm by Herbert Anchovy »
Does anyone else on here remember us playing at Rotherham in the first game of the season when we had our goalkeeper sent off? I think it was possibly in the mid 80’s and we lost 0-3! I’m sure our keeper booted a Rotherham player right up the arse, sending him sky high and got a straight red for his trouble. I remember the away end terrace being absolutely packed and Rovers fans filling a pub on the bridge near the station. I also remember the walk back to the station after the game being really hairy.

Paul Malcolm was the goalie.  Can't remember the year.

Brother in law of a work colleague up here, apparently now runs a hotel / b&b somewhere around Tynemouth

Think 1988,won home game 1-0 think Steven Burke with a free kick from wide right and missed everyone or it rings a bell anyway
