Coaching staff

We should be taking a leaf out of Liverpools book, its not always just about the players.

Is it any coincidence that we brought in Mad Baz and Coppinger as coaches?
Should upgrade the coaching staff as well as playing staff when you get promoted.

Did any of our coaches leave in the summer? If they didn't then we did upgrade them didn't we?
We also upgraded the facilities at Cantley Park. This is just clutching at straws

Did you nod off when you wrote that?

Kyle Letheren,  newly qualified when he joined us in lg2. Has he improved with the step up to lg1? Let's face it, yhe goalkeeping situation has been dog shit.

Mad Baz, goalkeeper coach all.of his career then comes to us as 1st team outfield coach.

Copps and Gloves swap roles in the summer.

I really dont think there has been an upgrade in this department.  Maybe you can counter this?

I believe coaching has changed immensely. So much data is now available from uploads from a player’s working body : so much software is available to collate data and convert it into strength and weakness profiles .However managing robots with chest data bands is not the same as coaching and motivating men and women .

We have Dave Rennie and his team for that. He was an upgrade.

Isn't it like the players? We've got more of them but whether it's better is up for debate.

I remember going to Northampton 20 years ago, it was Neil Sullivan’s first match and Mad Baz was crossing the ball and telling him how to catch etc. Mad Baz played for Lincoln,Preston,Halifax etc , whereas Sully had played Leeds,Tottenham,Wimbledon,Chelsea and 20 odd times for Scotland.

Maybe he's been brought in with special responsibilities for defence?

Well you'd think McCann would be on top of what he wants from the coaching staff. He oversees everything so he should know and take responsibility to make sure they're doing their jobs.

We're probably to least qualified to comment, apart from seeing the areas of weakness out on the pitch. It doesn't really matter what we think of the coaching staff, it's McCann and Byrne who are accountable.

I have grumbled enough about GK coaching, but that is common throughout the leagues, no catching ,only punching, no smothering only palming away. I have wondered why we have a GK doing dead ball coaching, there seems to be no particular strategy and the delivery of the ball is awful.

I found Richardson coming back a very strange decision.

Yes, saw him about yesterday. Maybe he sits in the stand?
