McCann instructed them to play the high balls because the pitch was too dodgy to play football on, there was too much risk of bobbles and losing possession.
His tactics did pay off.
Ashlie Fletcher would be a great asset to our team, he’s impressed me at both home and away fixtures.

Would definitely look in to getting Ashley Fletcher if they went down. Think he’d really suit what we look for in a centre forward.

He’s a player I’ve watched a lot over his career. This is literally the only good season he has had. It’s take him till being 30yo to learn the game. That said, I wouldn’t touch him with a barge pole personally.

Proper Brexit football for the vast majority of the game. But 3 points is all that mattered yesterday.

I think I also saw a negative comment about Mols, which I find incredible. He worked his socks off all day and caused them all sorts of trouble. In terms of footballing ability, he was head and shoulders above anybody else on the pitch.

I’ve put a ‘like’ on your post, Pancho, but I have to disagree on your Mols assessment. He was anonymous in the first half but did come to life in the second. Footballing wise, Robbie Gotts was head and shoulders above anyone else in a green shirt - all game! I also note what another poster says about predominantly using our left side, which could explain some of Mols apparent disappearance in that first half. Middleton was far more involved but far less effective!

Mols looks cooked to me. Running on empty.
