Another factor is who will be the one ultimately picking from the candidates? Hopefully their golf handicap isn’t one of the interview questions.

That’s a crass remark & given the credentials of Terry & Gavin I’d want to know what you base it on.

Basing it on McCann at all times so far wanting full power on any football decisions/hiring.

Hopefully it’s a process led and decided on by Baldwin and any outside specialist agency he contacts for help  :)

I can’t imagine Baldwin ever wishing to override McCann on the football side .That is not his philosophy of management judging from his words and deeds over the years .I have heard Grant say that there is no substitute judgement of a player person to person and I know he has refused this sort of hi tech in the past but obviously has had a change of mind .

What’s Grant’s golfing handicap?

He stands or falls as a manager on the team of players he puts out on the pitch to get a result. I’d want full power on who I end up with on the training pitch in those circumstances. That’s not to say he shouldn’t use every scrap of information available to him & I have no doubt he does albeit him admitting to data/analysis read outs of players is not his first go to, he needs to see players face to face to fill in the ‘blanks’ data doesn’t give him. Absolutely nothing wrong with that in my eyes.

Well, there is something wrong with Grants approach clearly, otherwise we wouldn’t have sent 5 loan players back for being garbage and signed a load of other players that haven’t been up to it.

I dont see it like that. Are'nt we about 4th in the league for chances created? If we had a goalscorer we would have been challenging! I've said before it's been a poor league.

Exactly, if we’d recruited well think where we could have been. It’s largely been a wasted season because of the 17? players we’ve brought in this season, I’d argue 11 haven’t been good enough and that’s probably being generous to the other 6.

my idea is to get good loanees - some of you will remember when a team we all expected to get relegated one season Shrewsbury went up top in the top 3 all season and from memory ended  up 3rd with 91 points and of course lost in the play offs.

i asked co-pilot about that season

"when shrewsbury finished 3rd in division one a few years ago who were the players loaned to them and from which clubs i am not interested in them loaning out players to other clubs"

Short answer — for the 2017–18 season (when Shrewsbury finished 3rd in League One) the club brought in several loanees; the main players loaned to Shrewsbury and their parent clubs were: Dean Henderson (Manchester United), Ben Godfrey (Norwich City), Ebou Adams (Norwich City), Carlton Morris (Norwich City), Max Lowe (Derby County), Daniel James (Swansea City) and Niall Ennis (Wolverhampton Wanderers).

Players loaned to Shrewsbury Town in 2017–18

Player   Parent club (loaned from)
Dean Henderson   Manchester United.
Ben Godfrey   Norwich City.
Ebou Adams   Norwich City.
Carlton Morris   Norwich City (loan from Norwich’s setup).
Max Lowe   Derby County.
Daniel James   Swansea City.
Niall Ennis   Wolverhampton Wanderers.

that's the way to do it pay a bit more for quality loanees - but having said that Shrewsbury would not have had loads 'a money

HOW MANY "RINGERS" WERE THERE IN THAT TEAM ?

UPDATE
having thought about it didn't we nick somebody from Shrewsbury who was to blame for all those good loanees

This is the essence of the problem. Lots of signings without really improving anything. Gotts has turned out well only because he’s been played differently. I might be missing one or two but the rest have been no better than what we already had
