"Skinny Evans"

I'm watching Stevenage v Stockport game and Evans is one of the presenters, has his favourite take away shop closed down or summat, looks like he's lost 10 stones or so, fair play to him for achieving that.

Nah, f*ck him.

He’s not done it in a natural way anyway, so his health will probably still be a mess.

Might be worth a bet for promotion/title next season though Bristol Rovers. If he’s there it tells you the club plan on a really big budget.

When people who know nothing write it in such a way as to imply they know it as fact, it's very frustrating. Too much stuff posted on the internet by people that know nothing, for people who don't always challenge what they are reading and take it as gospel.

I have no time for Steve Evans and his murky past, but I will give him credit for his weight loss. Despite what Rupee spouts, I understood it was actually done properly with exercise and diet alongside medical support. And it was something he recognised he had to do for his health.

As I said, I have no time for him, but I will commend him for what he's achieved and how he's turned his health around.

I still want him to lose every game, mind!

Stockport won 1-0. You would imagine on balance of probabilities that is Stevenage in League One next season.

Yes he was told to lose weight or he would not see his grandkids grow up so he swims, cycles and eats a balanced diet all under medical advice

Can lose all the weight he wants but can't lose that criminal record.

Well unless the other posters on here are telling porkies, you’re making some assumption there.

It is possible to lose a lot of weight through diet and exercise..

Well considering it takes roughly 18 months to lose around 6 and half stone in a healthy way which is what has been reported and yet he did it in 6 months which is around the timeframe to lose that amount of weight with ozempic? Its more obvious that the steriod junkies that claim they are all natural

[/quoteI lost 6 stone in six months ,by cutting out beer ,bread eating healthy and not consuming more than 1500 calories a day and fasting 1 day a week and exercising 5 days a week ,it was not easy but can be done if your disaplined and once you see the improvement in yourself it's easy to carry it on

Having even 1 person believe he’s done all this naturally is possibly Steve Evans’ greatest con yet.

I have zero issues with whatever anyone weighs btw. It’s life some people are bigger than others.

But f*ck me, rovers fans getting defensive of Steve Evans of all people

It’s not about Evans now, it’s about calling folks out who claim to know something as fact, when in reality it’s only ever going to be opinion and supposition..

I lost 6 stone in six months and I did it naturally calorie controlled diet no more than 1500 calories per day and fasted 1 day a week when I would not eat more than 600 calories and exercised 5 times a week it's not easy but is possible

Your point is a little moot on the basis that he did achieve the weightloss by natural means (exercise and diet) and has spent further months keeping it off with the same regime. When you are as overweight as he was, losing 6 stone can be relatively quick.

Check out this article in Men's Health magazine from September 2025 and you'll see he has maintained/increased his weightloss since that time.

As I say, can't stand the guy, but I have to commend him for this. Please don't see me as a fan of the bloke - the weightloss hasn't allowed him to shake off his murky past!

I went from 18 stone to 12 stone I was over weight, I started running I was 40 year old at the time,I had people ask me if I was ill , I calorie counted everything I ate and drank,I used to drink 4-5 lattes a day and I now drink black coffee that cut out around 7500 calories a week and limited my alcohol intake as well, I would drink gin and tonic not beer which reduced alot of calories, people only look at food when trying too lose weight not what they drink , alcohol, coffee and fruit smoothies are the worst, now I only use chicken or turkey mince not beef and eat a lot less bread

Note the "and anything football related" part, and re-read the OP.

Yes this thread has nowt to do with Rovers, but it is valid for the forum.

It isn’t really interesting to most Rovers fans though.
I’ve never liked the man but rarely think about him unless we are playing one of his teams.

Roversdude & Idler. My original post was just an observation on the current physical look of Steve Evans, as I truly didn't recognise him when I first switched on the Stevenage game, it was only when the presenter said his name that I realised it was Evans, his appearance really took me aback. I was just curious as to what other football followers thought of his weight loss. I understand it's not a direct Rovers topic, but he's been mentioned on here plenty of times by Rovers followers, he is part of our history as an opponent after all.
