Just back....

What a great game to be at. First half was as exciting as any game I've been to, second half was totally comfortable even before the 5th goal - and that NEVER happens with Donny, does it?

Best player all round was Orr

JET was sublime. Reminded me of a polished version of LFW.

BS was excellent, deserved a hat trick, but 2 aint bad.

Beyond that, our style was different, more attacking than I've seen. Missed a big central defender - Owulmu - or whatever he's called, was a serious threat, not really handled in the first half anyway. Our full backs were great.

Shiels missed a sitter at the end.

Their fans were so quiet, poor things, ours noisy all through. Great drumming too IMO. Super dooper day and gives me bragging rights for the rest of the season round these parts  B)

Just about covered it there Bristol Red Rover...and it was good to see you there today and catch up.

Wow! What a game. Who the heck could have predicted that today and the first 20 minutes were unreal. Going forward we were tearing them apart. At the back, it looked like high balls were going to undo us, pretty much as shown by their two goals.

Once we got a 2 goal cushion, that was really always going to be it. However, it was after it had gone 2-2 that we really took control so that was the real turning point for me. The 5th goal had come after a period of City pressure and we'd been tied down - but we went up the field and scored.

Billy and JET looked great today, got the goals and wlll take the headlines. City couldn't touch them. But credit also goes to the defence, especially for me O'Connor. Hird looked better as the game went on, especially second half. Oster, Wilson, Copps all had good games. Hayter is in danger of being forgotten man with the scoring around him but don't take anything away...James Hayter is an absolutely limitless worker. He out-jumps people far bigger than him and puts in a FULL shift for the team.

Mutch came on and played some nice stuff as did Shiels. Though Shiels was going to get the 6th that, quite frankly, out attacking play deserved.

Spicer came on too late to make much difference but he went for it when he did come in.

So did we deserve the 5-2 scoreline - YES and more! And the fans calling BBC Bristol tonight will not argue with that...they were saying we could have had 10 today.

Am I going to have an enjoyable time at work in Bristol on Monday...you bet!

Liked the pictures, there's nothing quite like a contested drop ball to relieve aggresion is there?

Anyway to add to the pictures, here's a match report for those who couldn't make it, and also for those who inexplicably chose odd non-league games to attend.

Typical, I get the opportunity for a weeks mountain bike training in the winter sun in Spain, thinking its only City and we never win there...coldest and wettest winter they have had in living memory and somebody remind me of the score again!! Still there was a remarkable lack of City shirts on the plane back to Bristol last night, but one or two Brizzle lads did spot my Rovers top.....and kept well away

Well done boys, same again tonight
