5 weeks until the season starts, so I'd say 6500-7000 is probably achievable, especially if we bag a cutting-edge signing in the next week or so.

I was speaking with a Wednesday fan at work this week and he said for the first time Wednesday were offering a half-season ticket for the first half of the season.  What do you lot think?  Good idea or bad?

....

Optimistic I would have thought.

I'm not sure on the half ST thing - the Sheff. Wed. people can pay in installments for their tickets, so it's just another package for them.

We could do \"8 monthly payments\", or \"Savings Accounts for next season\" but it's clearly too difficult, or the frequent customer surveys have shown it to be unnecessary.

I'd actually be quite happy to have a swipe card (or thumb print) to get in but no doubt the software would be dodgy and leave 3000 stood outside at 3pm.

How successful is the \"2nd half of the season ticket? \"

Me and my Dad bought ours yesterday :)

on the other topic i think the installment payments are a good idea! loads of places do it.. and the  first half the season could be successful

Some interesting results from a recent FL survey.

Link

What I read from this is, the main problem is that people can't get to all the games and surprisingly I thought, would buy a season ticket primarily out of a sense of loyalty to the club rather than to save cash.

I'm not sure the half season ticket would solve the issue of people not be able to get to games.

Maybe better to focus on a Saturday only (or midweek only?) season ticket, or selling tickets in blocks of 5,10 or 15 (like the Super6 offer), where you can choose which games you go to, but pay up front?

No harm in offering as many different ways of buying tickets as possible though I guess. There are many different reasons why people can't/won't go to a game, so giving people more choices can only lead to bigger sales.

Terrible what would you want to buy even a half for?

Yep, that one has been put to the club in the past and has been totally overlooked.

Would suit shift workers etc., being able to pick a seat for   5 or 6 games in advance and get a pro-rata discount.

Let's face it our club are so backward in responding to customers needs it's unreal. The most imaginative thing they can come up with is a quid-a-kid.

I'm sticking to the prediction of less than 6000 ST holders and hope JR stops to think why we couldn't achieve more ST holders and more revenue.

He ought to take a walk down Donny High Street and see how many shops are empty.

An increase of 120 in the last month. I'd be very surprised if we got near to 6000 which is a disgrace frankly. But, the club only have themselves to blame.

How many have Scunny sold?

Hate to say it but if my seat behind the goal is going to cost me just under £500 next year there is no way I will be renewing.

I had every intention of renewing, but have now decided not to. Unfortunately I had too much outlay during the months when the \"early bird\" prices were available, and now I cannot justify shelling out the best part of £500 for a season ticket, especially this season, as I will miss a number of games through work.

I will now prepare myself for the barrage of insults.

I can't say I blame you MrFrost.  It is a shame that these price increases will see the Keepmoat half empty for many games next season. Loyal supporters are being priced out of watching their team unfortunately and I didn't think that I would see this happen whilst Mr Ryan was in charge.

The thing is though, Bob, footy fans are easily swayed from doomed naysayers to rabid fanboys by perceived positivity from the club.

If we signed a good player this week, for argument's sake, which would strengthen the squad immeasurably, would we have the likes of MrFrost, again for argument's sake, finding the cash for his ST from somewhere?

I understand from perceived wisdom that signing Sharp would for instance would put '2500' on the gate.

Apparently.

Which does rather show that moaning about prices is pretty pointless. Until the loss of ticket sales from a price rise is higher than the extra revenue for each ticket sold, prices will simply carrying on going up, especially as more and more almost broke clubs try desparately to manage their debts.

I could afford it, Rob. That's not my point. I will potentially miss 4 games, and thats just before Christmas.

I may look at getting a half season ticket.

If people are going to miss a proportion of games this season due to working commitments (or whatever reason), surely the club should recognise this problem and offer a \"Cherry Picker\" type ticket whereby fans with this problem can still show their loyalty to the club and pick the most important games to them (say 6 at a time), and pay for them upfront at a discounted price.
I'm all for getting as many people into the stadium as possible. We could also look at a \"Family Cherry Picker\" ticket and try to encourage those with 'bin lids' to attend their chosen games. I missed four games last season due to work, so I understand peoples' reluctance to lay out the money upfront if they are having to miss games due to work etc.

It's a problem for sure, as committed fans, we all want to support the Rovers as much as we can, but at the same time nobody wants to chuck money down the drain by missing games in these difficult financial times.
What a to'do eh!!

Not moaned, merely pointed out that they should have, and would have been higher had Rovers thought outside of the box and offered solutions as pointed out above and put a proper marketing scheme out. They didn't, so sales will be low.

The sales are poor if im honest but thats the way it is and it is not going to change in the near future im afraid.
Money is tight and many cannot afford it.

Oh and i dont think it would be right to criticise ryan as fans want good signings and good signings cost money and higher prices mean higher money which means better signings.   :P

Besides they are still relatively cheap towatch championship football.

You`ve moaned, and you`ve berated the Doncaster public for not buying a season ticket, yes you`ve had a go about the marketing and I agree with you on that score, but to berate people for not buying a season ticket and then not buy one yourself smacks of hypocrisy.

Please, find me a post where I have berated the Doncaster public.
When Norfolk came on here saying those who can't afford one, then get a better job, I was actually defending the one's who couldn't afford it.

I may have mentioned the apathy towards DRFC from the Doncatser public, and the big game charlies, but I have never onced slated a genuine fan of DRFC who cannot buy a season ticket,

I'm talking about the general public. Those who follow football but don't have a clue about DRFC. Those from Doncaster who follow the likes of Leeds, Wednesday etc.

Forgive me, but wouldn't only Doncaster Rovers supporters buy a Doncaster Rovers season ticket.

Again, I ask you to find a post where I have berated Doncaster Rovers fans for not buying a season ticket.

Just further to the Original topic posted by Norfolk. Can I ask where you got this figure from, as the Keepmoat site still states 5197 sold, and has done for about the last 4 weeks.
