A Billy Sharp ode.

Today is a very special day for us Rovers so i was copelled to pay homage to our Billy by way of a poem.

Billy Sharp.

You played for Sheff Utd, our neighbours down the road,
But they didn’t see your potential and decided to off load,
And so to Donny Rovers you came to us on loan,
Scoring goals in abundance with confidence grown,
The passion within was plain to see,
On scoring a goal your face lit with glee,
“sign him up” came the chants from the crowd,
Singing  your name out loud and proud,
 you then got injured, hoped  to soon be on the mend,
But it wasn’t to be  your season at an end,
John Ryan made a promise, to do what he could,
To sign you for Donny as we all hoped he would,
 Utd wanted more than was opted to pay,
 So with offer on the table we walked away,
Burnley put a bid in after joining the chase,
  You declined to join them to fight for your place,
But John Ryan wasn’t giving up on the fight,
He upped his offer as we hoped he might,
A record fee showed the ambition he had,
For the club he’d loved from being a lad,
We all know that your’re  a Blade at heart,
Thus making your decision even harder to part,
You weighed your options up of this I’m sure,
Sit on the bench or play games galore,
I’m ecstatic to see how this as panned out,
It’s the right decision of this I’ve no doubt,
And so dear Billy I just want to say,
Thankyou for signing you’ve made my day.

Leeds

Leeds,United,who the bloody hell are they,
The team we beat at Wembley on that very special day,
They think their gonna storm this league now they’ve finally got up,
But I think like us no other club could really give a f..k,
They still live in the past with the Owls and  Forest too,
and they play what's known as hoofball like Sheff Utd do.
