One pattern I do see emerging is SOD's loyalty and determination to sign a player once he's seen something he likes, or knows what he's getting as he's been on loan with us (or played for Bournemouth) before. How many players have we taken on loan/trial at least once and then signed permanently? Or perhaps more tellingly, how many players have we committed to a contract without seeing how they fit in wearing the hoops? Off the top of my head I can only think of Wellens, Woods, Shiels & Friend, but hey, its early and I'm sure there's a load more, but I bet they number far less than the 'try before you buy' players.
