A very good preview Glen, and even if they don't admit I would imagine most rovers fans agree with you regarding their opnions of Leeds.

Good match tonight, it always is whenever we have played them. Rovers a far better team than Leeds, and we will win tonight.

Watched on the internet.  We played some lovely stuff at times. Leeds shaded it second half.  We shaded it first half.  Lost our way a bit around the hour mark. When we play with two wide men and get at defences we look so much better.  Bradley Johnson is a Kitson.

A fair point I reckon.  Good referee too.

I'm a bit disapointed to be honest. We played in fits and starts, Friend doesn't look quite upto the standard yet and Billy Sharp looked completely pissed off all through the game. He hardly got a touch in the second half. Subs came 15 too late as we lost our way a bit, looked a lot better when Stock came on. I reckon we could have took all three points if we had played it straight down the middle more, their two centre halfs have a turning circle of a long wheel based tranny van. Copps quiet, Oster not on it, Woods ok. Jimmy O is a class act, give him a four year contract. pleased with clean sheet but like i said, a tad disapointed.

i thought donny were lucky to end up with a point, felt as thou
leeds looked more likely to nick one than doncaster.

will take a clean sheet.

everytime dumbaya got the ball in defence he just knocked
the ball over rovers half and down the line his side of pitch,to which leeds cleared up time after time.

oster seemed too miss pass one or two balls, poor billy sharp
did he touch the ball in a threating postion?

Thought Bruce had a great game, as did most of both defences. Leeds obviously didn't want to be shown up on live TV so came to defend and did a good job. They also had better chances to win it than us so I'm happy with a point. Thought our defence was pretty solid again, Martis is proving he's more than capable for this league.

Leeds looked a decent side, different to us, but they'll have no problem in this league.

Just finished watching the match I had taped, and what a pleasure watching the Rovers!  I thought they were the better side in the first half, and was well impressed by Sharp and Dumbaya giving it their all.  The couple of missed opportunities were disappointing, and a goal would have been the icing on the cake, but they were a sheer joy to behold..  As someone pointed out in another thread, the announcer also annoyed me and after his comment that Donny should be more \"pragmatic\" when referring to themselves as the Arsenal of the North, I concluded he was a d*ck of the highest order and immediately hit mute.  (Sorry, the gloves come off during football.)   You could see them slowing down in the second half, but still their fancy footwork when protecting the ball was very impressive!  I think both sides were pumped up for this and a draw was probably inevitable,. All in all though, happy with the performance and result.

Also forgot to say how much I like their kits.  The black shorts along with the black socks are very striking(!) against the red and white hoops, and also very professional looking. :-)  Also nice to see Steve Bruce there watching his son, as you tend to forget he's a dad as well.

Edit:  My observations are probably very different from yours, but I've only seen them twice on tv and never live...

They're playing in black shorts and socks????? That just sounds so wrong, why have they got rid of the red shorts and socks? I for one will not be buying these new black shorts.

Hi Nat, I used to travel to London fairly frequently and met people from Yorkshire including someone from Donny who was a big Rovers fan. Only been following them for about five years since L1 so never experienced the bad times, but since then they just keep getting better and better!  :-)

Sandy Lane, are you male or female?

Also and curiously, have you done some research, or been told, as the name Sandy Lane is in Belle Vue and a road very much akin to the old and new stadium in terms of parking and a thoroughfare for many a pedestrian going to the game.
