FIND THIS MAN

Police are appealing for witnesses to identify a man who committed a sexual act in a public place in front of two children.

The incident happened at the Doncaster Dome on Bawtry Road on Thursday 10 November 2010 between 4pm to 5pm.

A 13-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl were swimming when a man near to them committed a sexual act in the pool.

He is described as white and in his early 50s. He has thinning hair and a beard and is of a stocky build.

Investigator Fiona Ginbey said: “This is an isolated incident and should not deter people from visiting the Dome. The man is not known to police and this type of act has never previously occurred at the Dome. I would urge members of the public to please come forwards if they recognise the man or can assist in anyway with the investigation.”

Michael Hart, General Manager of the Doncaster Dome said: “The safety of our customers is our number one priority and we have worked closely with South Yorkshire Police to provide them with all the information we have which may help them in identifying this man.

As a responsible venue we operate a Leisure Watch programme and have the most up to date CCTV and monitoring systems which have enabled the police to put out this appeal with a clear image of the man in question.

Thankfully incidents like this are extremely rare but we want to reassure our customers that we will remain vigilant while ensuring that the Dome is a safe and fun place for families to visit.”

Anyone with any information on the identity of the man or who witnessed the incident should call South Yorkshire Police on 0114 2202020 quoting incident number 287, 11 November 2010.
