David has come up with a rock anthem version.

That's sounds exactly like the sort of thing I've been advocating for ages - I've always said whatever it is needs to be a 'stomper'.

I've written songs before (I used to be in a band in college) so I'd like to have an attempt at some lyrics. Is there anyway I can have a copy of the soundfile so I can make a breakdown of the ABC verse/chorus structure? And would the maestro mind if bits might need re-organising or arranging differently at all? (Basically I'm asking whether all suggestions of tweaking would be welcome/entertained or whether he'd prefer the track to be used 'as is'?)

Glad you like it! If you pm me your e-mail I'll send you a copy, and as for 'tweaking' the song, depends on how big a tweak it is, I'd sooner keep it as it is, but if it really needs changing a bit, I'll give it a go

It was played as the players came out last time, so guessing it'll be the same again

Must admit, it is kind of a buzz hearing it at The Keepmoat!

Oh, and I haven't forgotten about the anthem, lyrics are being written at the minute, and hopefully I'll have something to show soon

I thought it was very effective being played at that point. It's almost like YNWA as Liverpool come out in terms of the feeling it gave me (obviously on a smaller scale - no disrespect!).

I was realy pushing the Anthem when I saw Steve Uttley this morning we here at the Frame Warehouse all think its great. He says he is in touch and will get Sine FM to play it as well. I think this tune could go alot further.

I've sent some lyrics for the rock anthem. Hopefully if a vocal version can be demoed and made available to listen to you'll like that too. There's nothing to say that both can't be used at different times on a matchday.

Got ya lyrics, theyre brilliant, I'll get a cheapo mic I can use in me pc, and we'll plan something very soon

The anthem is like the Rovers Theme Tune as it were, and Final battle will be used as sort of a tension builder at games

I think the rock anthem is the best yet but the original final battle is better than the Rovers version.
Just my opinion.

Aaanyway, does anyone remember on Donny-Mad when someone was uploadin all those photo's of the stadium construction? That was me

I mention it because I recently logged into the backoffice and found that all the photo's had gone! whoever took over the site deleted em! Gutted

Sorry to be a dissenting voice, but I really dont like the rock version. It sounds like The Sweet and glam rock isnt my thing.

Final Battle was/is 100x better, IMHO. Distinctive and unique.

Final Battle was never originally a rovers song, it was just a random song I made, but I have adapted it, and it is used as a tension builder at matches, just I cant see how lyrics would fit into it as I made it as an instrumental, any ideas welcome!

There'll be a poll once I've got 2-3 different Idea's online, so everyone gets a say
