Agree, although Stock on the right? I think Copps on the right and Mason behind. Maybe we should give Stevie a start ahead of Billy if fit, and bring Sharp on as an impact player about the hour mark. It'd give us a different plan of attack, if nothing else.

Sullivan
O'Connor Hird Kilgallon Mills
Stock Keegan
Coppinger Oster
Mason
Sharp

The front 6 is how we should have set up yseterday anyway, and the first three of the back four (I assume Mills was not quite match-fit) would have been an improvement.

Not sure about Mason, we did improve after he came on but he never seemed to get as involved as he should.

It might be time to give Deano a final chance here. he has not been good enough but for me helped make us much more threatening near the end and might be just what we need if he is up for the fight.

Maybe you're right, and Shiels did form a decent partnership with Sharp last season before he got injured.

It's just that for me Shiels makes a couple of decent runs then thinks he's done his shift for the day and disappears. And he doesn't exactly add much steel to the team, does he?

Return Hird to centre back, Killgalon on the bench. Not Wilsons biggest fan but think maybe do a better job than Keegan who looks like the games & the step up has taken a bit out of him. Move Coppinger inside to support Sharp more & at least try & create something, giving the wide role to either Mason or Shiels. Mills if fit at left back & Sullivan back in the sticks to give us more experience. Let's have a go.

No, I agree with what your saying. But right now we are missing what JET gave us last year I think and I look at our bench and Shiels for me is the only one at the moment can offer that (to an extent, obviously).

Whether he has the hunger for it is another argument but it would be him I would look to before Mason at the moment. I think Deano will go in the summer as things stand (is his contract up?).

I don't get why Mason didn't start yesterday. At Millwall he was probably our best player going forward and running at the defence. He improved us yesterday too when he came on but given the situation you can't really blame him for not setting the world alight. Given a run in the side with Copps i reckon he could be quite a player.

My team would be the same as Millwall but with Copps in for Brooker and, if fit, Mills back in for Friend.

Woods
Chambers JOC Hird Mills/Friend
Stock Keegan
Oster
Mason Copps
Sharp

There is only one comment I can make about all the above posts and that is:

Thank Christ none of you lot are picking the team.

Bloody hell SOD isn't perfect but some of the suggestions above defy belief.

Although i've put him in my team I do agree. The only reason i'd play him is because Dumbuya is injured and JOC and Hird seem to have been our best CH pairing recently.

Anyone else noticing that Kilgallon is the new Martin Woods in his first season? First season Woods was here any time he was in the team we lost. We're still yet to get a point with Kilgallon in the team are we not? The one win, Burnley, he didn't play.

Like he did against Derby. What a comeback. Shame we threw the Kitson away... That's actually the last time I can remember coming back from 2-0 in a while (might be losing it though )

How can you possibly keep Chambers in the side? He was garbage yesterday and hasn't had a decent game this season.

I would go with that formation, you`ve got 2 full backs that`ll get up and down all match. it`s a formation that shows you`re going out to win the game, unlike yesterday, when it looked like we set our stall out for a draw

Personally I thought Chambers did o.k. yesterday & looked fitter than he has done since his return.

Can't see why Woods isn't featuring in anybodies teams? He hasn't had a great deal to do in his three games but I noticed on Saturday his command of the 18 yard box is better than Sullivans.

Hird and Killa as a centre half pairing for me, with JOC and Mills at fullbacks. Stock, Oster, Copps and Wilson, Keegan hasn't done anything wrong but still looks a bit overawed by his surroundings. Sharp up front with Big Steve if fit, if not then stick Mason or Shiels up there, but for gods sake don't put Sharp up there alone.

---------Woods or Sullivan (both have not had a lot to do really)
---Chambers---JOC---Hird----Mills( Hird needs some one to control him and Killa has done nothing to show me he has the attitude required to get us out of this position, because what we are paying Killa will start)

-----------Keegan ------Stock
------------------Oster
----Copps---------------------Brooker(if fit) or Friend
-----------------Sharp
