They can still be debited up until the 10th of next month, I think.

Yes they can. I haven't been debited yet, but hopefully in the next few weeks I will be. Notifications of your success in getting tickets will be sent to you by June 24th.

No one i know has been debited and i've organised about 17 friends to go...none of us have had any luck yet.

Ridiculous system tbh. All so they can get intrest for a year and pay off a bit of debt

Some folk got debited last Monday so it is all underway.

But I agree, it's a poor system.

I havent....but then again I never appied.

I couldnt commit to applying for something when I didnt know what I was getting event wise, have to pay in advance, find out you get something you dont want...then have to wait months to get a refund if you dont want it. Oh and arent you forced to pay by mastercard as well (ie not visa)?

A farce - in no other industry would such a system exist.

You are forced to pay by Visa (debit or credit) which is rubbish personally as all my credit cards are Mastercards meaning that I had to apply using my debit card (for around £800 worth of tickets) and then ask the lovely bank manager to give me an overdraft just incase they take the money the day before pay day!

UPDATE:

I have just checked the account and I have been debited! Da da da!

Now, I applied for the following:

Opening & closing ceremonies, men's 100m final, 3 other stadium medal days... and shooting somewhere in Greenwich (not really my bag, but a pal's lad is potentially involved).

And the debit algebra seems to point to... er, anyone got a bus timetable for Greenwich?

I have a difference between my balance & available balance and the only thing it can be is Olympic tickets as I rarely use my debit card.

Only £146 out of about £800 tho...

Deleted the email which had details of what I have applied for on so strugging to work it out. I applied for 7 events in total, I imagine that I have probably got 3 lots of 2 tickets judging by the money they have taken.

Woking, with the events you have listed tickets for, the opening and closing ceremonies and the athletics events will be going to ballot. I don't know when the ballots take place, but maybe you should be disheartened just yet!

I only applied for the Judo which will be on the first weekend. With living in Donny, I don't fancy trying to book accommodation down in London next year, so decided to take a safer option.

Richard Bacon has had £3K taken from his account and some bloke has had 11k taken from his account. 11k on Olympic tickets ?

Meanwhile Boris Johnson has missed out

Nice of them to share the tickets out

Card has now been debited.
I thought I would spread my interest over 18 different sports so that I could sample the Olympic Experience.
£4000 potential outlay, I have received £122 worth. I have worked out that I have definitely got the Boxing I applied for and either the Artistic Gymnastics or The Gold Medal Football Final.
I need not tell you what i am hoping for.
A mate of mine who is a senior exec with one of the sponsors applied for £3000 worth and got nothing.
I received an e mail from Thomas Cook who informed me I could go to the opening ceremoney with a friend and 4 other minor events with 4 nights in a posh hotel for just short of £14,000.
Its alright for some.

I applied for over £1200, some on bealf of French friends who wanted to see the handball (I thought Thierry Henry had provided that!!).  I've been debited £282, 14-16 tickets.  I suppose I was lucky to get so many!!!.  What really pees me off is that my council taxes have helped pay for these games and many Londoners feel aggrieved we've really got nothing back, just the chaos with transport etc when the games arrive.
