Cheers. I'd forgotten that they hide these things in the 'News' section

3-0, Baxendale.

Rovers' most convincing performance of pre-season according to commentary.

We were very good tonight, and the passing was crisp and accurate virtually all night. Bennett was excellent. Linked play, picked his passes and chased and tackled too. A superb performance.

If I have a minor criticism it would be that we still seem to want to walk the ball into the goal at times rather than shoot, but that is now 2 friendlies in a week where we've just kept the ball away from the opposition for probably 70 minutes of the game.   Very, very encouraging.

The player with the fro ;) was good, and fitted in seamlessly, but looks like he is carrying a little bit of timber. Nothing a couple of weeks with Mr Burbeary wouldn't sort.

Baxendale looks to be a fantastic find by SOD. He looks like he could become a fantastic player. Took his goal tonight very well and to say SOD has said he's brought him in for the future, he wouldn't look out of place making a few appearences in the first team pretty soon. I know it's only been preseason but he's been showing some good potential in the few games i've been to.

I'm liking the signings this season, as someone has mentioned on a different thread, every signing/potential signing have been very exciting compared to previous season's alsorans.
Bring on next Saturday!

Great to hear these comments. Did the Spanish lad play tonight and if so how did he do?

Also encouraging about Baxendale. Saw him for the first time at Bumhole lane and thought, one for the future? One for now! No fear, and not lacking in ability and for his size, he is willing to mix it.

There may be one or two senior pros at the club doing a bit of thinking at the moment. Their name might just not get them on the teamsheet every week.

Vine & Lander? What's the score?

Good to read some positive updates. Reading Twitter it appears the players enjoyed  the game.

How did Mason get on and what position did he play in?

While I agree with the general positive vibes about the game - we passed it well in the first half and scored a couple of good goals - the defence still looked worryingly shaky.
George Friend was excellent but we looked extremely vulnerable, particularly from set pieces. A better side would have scored at least two or 3 from free kicks and corners.

Afro man was absolute class BTW. Billy looked about a stone overweight tho!!!;)

Completly agree with that about Baxendale, deserves to be on the bench at least next week. What a goal tonight, if Copps had scored that we'd all be raving about it. I know its only early days but we could have a real player on our hands if he keeps developing under SOD. Is he only here for a year? I think i'd be trying to find the illusive pen and get him tied up for longer!!
