Fantastic Signing,  Just what we needed.  Saunders is bringing in some decent players!  Imagine if Diarra and Piqionne sign!!  After the misery of the last 10 months I am starting to get excited again!! :rtid:  Let just hope Leeds dont ruin the party on Friday

Can't see him not starting, surely part of the loan condition. It's not like he's gonna have to run 10 miles during the game. Get him in.

Easily the best signing of the lot...so far...don't care where he comes on the England list, all I know is we've got the best keeper in the league.

Top banana.

Does this mean we'll stop gifting the opposition at least a goal every game?

Sully is/was the best keeper we have had, a huge step up from our previous keepers, but Chris Kirkland , in what should be in his peak years, simply the biggest signing drfc have ever made.  :woot:   :scarf:    :woot:

Good signing.  Benefits for both, he plays well for us he'll get himself back in contention in the top flight and we get a good keeper.  Just what we need until January where Saunders will actually get a chance to get some permanent players in.  Good to see we've strengthened at the back first.

This signing is on the same level as that of Billy Sharp - absolutely superb.

He must go straight in against Leeds. No point in getting players in on loan, and having them sat on the bench. Got to play.

I don't know why people are questioning whether he'll start. Deano has obviously realised we're letting too many goals in and that a GK was a priority.

Now unlike an outfield player, if you've highlighted the GK position being a problem area, then bring in an ex-prem on loan, he's got to be playing. He must also be free of injury so hopefully the jinx of the past may come to an end, long may it continue!!

I am under no doubt he will be between the sticks tomorrow night. Deano will want to field the best side to win (imagine taking 10 points from a possible 12, whilst sticking one to the Dirty Weeds!! Fantastic start!!)

1st Choice - CK
Sub GK - Sulli

Loan out woods, get some more experience.

... It's always been great being a Rovers fan, but at the minute its exciting again  :scarf:

He sounds VERY excited about the move:

Rovers latest acquisition Chris Kirkland, who signed on loan
until January, last night spoke about his move from the DW
                  Stadium came about.

\"I got a call last Friday from Willie McKay asking me if I
                  would consider it.

\"As soon as I heard about the interest, I wanted to come. I
need to get back playing and hopefully if I do well I can do
                  that here.\"

Making over 130 appearances for Wigan, the Leicester born shot
stopper has a wealth of experience playing at the highest
level, but admits he has to earn his place in the squad in
what is a very competitive league.

\"It's a tough league, it's the same as the Premier League,
nobody has got the given right to beat anybody.

\"There are a lot of tough teams, so we're going to have to
work hard as individuals and as a squad.

\"I've got to perform well in training as well as the games if
I want to stay in the team. I've got to earn my right to play,
                  and I will do that.\"

Having not played many games recently, it's the perfect
opportunity to get valuable game time for the former England
                  international.

\"I've not played a lot over the last 12-18 months, so,
hopefully I can get a few games and help the team and the team
                  can help me.\"

The lad has presence, there's no doubt about that. The only doubt is his injury problems and one of which is a bad back (perhaps he can consult Stocky about that!). Got to go straight in, if he's fit.

Now, where's that CB?

Additionally according to the BBC:

\"Former Doncaster striker Graeme Jones, now the number two at the DW Stadium, was a prime mover in Kirkland's move from Wigan, who will assist with Kirkland's wages during his loan spell.

Don't see how anybody can question JR when we make signings like this. Absolutely fantastic stuff, and just what we needed. If this doesn't give the back 4 confidence nothing will.

Graeme Jones, Jones, Jones
Graeme Jones, Jones, Jones
Graeme Jones, Jones, Jones

:scarf:

One of my faves! Easily one of the best bits of business the firestarter did for us getting him amongst us - pity we were robbed by selling him to Wigan for £100K (?) - worth more than that even then!

Yeah I proper loved Graeme Jones, at a time when there admittedly wasn't much else to shout about. Will always remember the diving header and the Town end from a Danny Williamson cross to put us out of sight at 3-1 against Scunny at BV.
