That Pacers ad reminds me of the one that ends with a Scottish professor-type saying to one of his students 'Put them away...laddie'...was that a Pacers one or something else? I'm sure it was for a chewy mint...

Yeah loved them.
Also Cola Rola Balls. Looked like ball bearings with a little bit of aniseed inside. Apparently discontinued because the coating was actually aluminium!

Ok Ovalitinees, sing along to these:

Rowntree's tots please yourself,
4 to choose from along the shelf,
Jelly Tots — your favourite sweet,
Candy Tots — made to eat,
And Teddy Tots — all shiny bright,
Tiger tots — liquorice for you to bite.

Smack your chops, lick your lips,
Eat a lovely bag of Chipsticks.

Gimme Mint Cracknel and I don’t care
Gimme Mint Cracknel and I don’t care …
It’ll chase those blues away!

And that ain’t bad

Come, mister tally-man, tally me Cabana,
I want a Cabana and I want one now,
Coconut, caramel, cherries and milk chocolate,
I want a Cabana and I want one now!
Cab-a-a-na, Cab-a-a-a-na,
I want a Cabana and I want one now!

I’ll risk it
For a Swisskit!

Thick milk chocolate for your delight,
Nougat, caramel golden light,
And don’t forget a hazelnut in every bite

Toblerone,
Out on its own,
Made with triangular almonds
From triangular trees
And triangular honey
From triangular bees,
So, oh Mr Confectioner please,
Give me Toblerone.

I used to love these chocolate balls with a mint flavoured shell, which were around in the mid-eighties. They came in a small cardboard container the size of a packet of ten fags.

Anyone have any idea what they were called? I could murder one right now.

Poppets?

You can still get them. They have them at the co-op at Cusworth.

Don't think it's Poppets. The ones I was thinking about had choc on the inside and a crispy mint shell.

Had a quick google and couldn't find the buggers anywhere.

Were they the ones with a half white, half brown shell? Can't for the life of me remember what them 'uns were called.

Don't think so, I think they had a light blue or light green shell.

Are you sure you arent thinking of the Mint Tooty Frooties?  They were blue and green shades, but were chewy not choccy.

Orange smarties are the only ones which are not just chocolate.  They do indeed have orange flavour.

We did a survey on smarties at school when I was 10.
