What happened to the positive substitutions? we've been on the back foot for the whole of this half.

Chuff me! 3-1 now

Bring on the new regime.........same as the old regime :headbang:

Apart from the fact we've actually scored in most of our games under the new regime.

To quote the SOD haters \" Its all about points on the board\"  - today, again, that looks like a big fat zero, in fact zero from three from the McKay / Saunders management team.

I'm not a SOD hater, I'm just not getting on the back of the new manager after a month in the job.

Anyway, I seem to remember you wanting a change of manager before SOD left. Could be wrong though.

we had our traditional \"good period\" of 25-30 minutes but we take too long to get to that

1st half started badly lost early goal  came back

2nd half started badly lost 2 early goals

for f**ks sake get it right from the bloody start!

So, apart from against Blackpool we'v played fairly poorly in all of Saunders games? And we didn't get anything from the Blackpool game anyway!

Whether that even has anything to do with Saunders or not, I don't know.

I just hope if we are to be relegated without any dignity then I hope we at least go down with a secure financial future. Thinking about it, Sharp's transfer fee should cover that either way.

Are you surprised we are inept defensively?

The clue is the man we refer to as manager sat in the dug out.

We have been outclassed by a team who will likely be battling it out with us for a relegation place all season.

Quote from ThinWhiteDuke on this thread. (17th September 2011) ....

I guess SOD will role out the old 'Its all about the performance not the result' b*llocks again....and the blind SOD devotees will still insist there are 3 teams worse than us in this division.

Pretty much outclassed by the team second bottom today...tells its own story...rudderless, no leadership, no direction.

Thanks for the memories SOD....but we cant live on past achievements forever.

I had no problem with us relieving SOD of his duties as long as we replaced him with someone equally if not more competent.

Instead we have ended up with a smiling agents puppet who can't believe his luck.

Could have been 5 or 6 for Pompey. We really need to go back to the drawing board defensively.

12 from 7 conceded with SOD

11 from 6 conceded with smiling gimp. (as long as Portsmouth dont score again)

Pretty similar and not accounting for the extra players that have returned from injury since Saunders' tenure.

And 50% of the back four today Saunders signings... which in itself is worrying.

We haven't had a good defence for two years under any manager, because we haven't really addressed the fact that we don't have a top drawer centre half. I fail to see how this is the fault of the new manager, who has been here for a month.

A poor performance by the sound of it. Some huge games coming up that we must get some points from or it'll be curtains by Xmas.

I thought today's game was a realistic chance of us getting something. Coventry next week is going to be interesting and if we can't beat that rubbish..........

Come on Deano, sort the defence out!

there are several obvious problems

1 we cant defend
2 we cant score goals
3 we cant control the ball
4 we have no belief

we need urgently to defend as a team
we need to be more dynamic (fitter and faster)

if mckay can deliver that   bring it on

i am fed up with listening/watching the same old problems/performances

How is McKay going to sort ANY of that out? It is the job of the manager and his coaching staff ffs!

And I feel that none of them will be able to get us out of the bottom three, I've seen very little from what happens on the pitch to suggest we have a prayer this season.

Might as well have fella. After all Saunders' is merely his pawn and McKay could hardly be anymore tactically inept.

Lets see is Saunders follows through his promise to drop players and bomb those out the Club who are not pulling their weight - maybe he could start with Ilunga and Chimbonda eh? ;)

At £100 a week McKay could be a cheap managerial option

Sharp can score us the goals we need only if we give him service.
We lack quality in midfield to create and cross. We must have the worst corners, crosses and free kicks in the league.
