My thoughts on the situation
« on January 26, 2012, 10:55:06 am by One_Matty_Lucas »
I am such a positive Rovers fan, hate people being negative about things such as SOD vs DS, 'we are doomed to relegation' and everything else we have discussed.

In JR's interview he mentioned that people moaning about him standing up for the club against the referees and the FA regarding the Coppinger challenge is really p1ssing him off. I will admit I started a thread and probably slated him for this action. I support JR in everything he does, from McKay to changing managers. I just felt the talk of legal action makes us look silly.

I would like to apologise to JR if I offended him (if he read the thread), but I dont think moaning about referees is needed.

This is a vital few months for our club as we know it, personally I dont mind us being a League One side who potentially goes into the Championship occassionally, I just wish some people at the club got rid of the idea we are a massive club and need to win every game.

My best years as a Rovers fan were from 2001-2008. We had a laugh, we didnt take things too seriously, and we certainly werent as negative. Why dont we just join together and fight, cheer the club on, support the board.

People say that the board need to invest, they have worked so hard for their forture, we know that JR 'only' has 30 million, yet he has invested over 10 million in the club...thats 33%, people are moaning at 1-5% cuts in wages....i would like to see how many people on here would invest 33% of their salaries to the club and expect no return or no praise.

We are the luckiest team in the world to have JR (not to forget Dick and Terry). Coventry are screwed, Pompey have had more owners this year than we have in 15 years. Darlo wont be around much more, Kettering the same. Port Vale has conmen on the board....WHY THE f**k ARE WE MOANING

COME ON GUYS, :rtid:

Same here, there was more a less serious attitude around the fans and after promotion it all got too serious too quick, people didn't realise that when we finished 12th in our second season (our highest finish in the football pyramid; 32nd, since the early 1901/02 season when we finished 7th) that was a Doncaster Rovers over-achieveing, too many people referred to us as the 'next blackpool' (including ourselves).

But there is a difference between moaning and being critical here, John Ryan blaming the moaners has turned lots of us against ourselves, we don't know yet if this was about the talks of protest (which to me is not moaning, it's doing something to express your views) or the constant moaning before this 'divide' began.

I can't help but feel that John Ryan saying anyone who moans isn't a loyal fan is not the best way to approach this, but I understand that he is only human (and a great one at that) and he does sound generally down about the situation and he is only reacting naturally. I also think he has handled this alot better than most of us.

Perhaps what is needed is a return to the 'so what if we only have one championship season then go down, but I'm so proud of all we have achieved' mentality of just before Wembley..That seems to be forgotten by some.

Demanding the board put ever more in as has been already said and gripeing that they are infact being tight because they don't seem to be spending as much as a pretend character in football manager is at best ill mannered, at worst downright rude.

Running from thread to thread insulting each other isn't going to help either, it is a waste of bandwidth tbh.

Looking back on everything I have ever been taught and told of the history of Rovers tho, this is a huge blip yes, but not the catastrophe that was Richardson...

Personally I'd like to see JR step away from the forum for a while, take off his ardent fan head and go into busnessman mode.. It isn't doing him any good at all it would seem watching thread after thread that read more like the hens panicking on Chicken run.
