Transfer deadline day
« on January 29, 2012, 07:45:50 pm by Filo »
How disrupting would it be to our match preparations if a bid came in for Billy on Tuesday afternoon? All communication lines to the KM should be severed after tomorrow night! :)

Do not think but like more focus on the exits, minds have moved away from the \"experiment\" but given the wonderful names we have had its been a success in that part but like to see some loan deals brokered, thus reducing the wage bill?

I think the deadline day being on the same day as fixture list is an apaulling decision. They should at the least let it continue to 5pm Wednesday.

What's worse is Sunderland and Norwich play on Wednesday thanks to Sky, so they effectively have more time to rush any deals ..

Just unplug the fax and phones.  Simple.

They put the Media Department in charge of communication. Works a treat. ;)

Reading could lodge a last-minute bid for Billy Sharp despite signing Jason Roberts last week, according to sources in Berkshire. #drfc

If he goes and Diouf doesn't stay we can just about kiss goodbye to any chance of staying up.

What a disastrous seven days this is turning out to be. Given the loss of wealth suffered by the board this week the biggest tragedy may turn out to be the sale of a player for £1.8m to a club who were willing to pay £3.25m in the summer for that very same player.

They couldn't force him to go in the summer.  The club leaves a lot to be desired in some areas but the Sharp transfer is not one of them, they couldn't do anything about it.  Realistically it'd have been better if he'd gone in the summer, I said it then, that's the shame IMO.

Sky Sports understands Doncaster striker Billy Sharp is undergoing a medical at Southampton ahead of a possible move to St Mary's.

Sharp has been tipped to leave Doncaster this month with the South Yorkshire outfit resigned to losing the player.

Sharp rejected the opportunity to join fellow Championship club Leicester earlier this month after a bid from the Foxes activated a release clause in his contract.

A number of clubs have been linked with the 25-year-old, but it appears Southampton are in pole position to land the former Sheffield United man.

Southampton have held a long-term interest in Sharp and tried to sign the forward last summer only for the move to fall through.

Saints boss Nigel Adkins has been searching for striking reinforcements all month and he will be hoping to tie up a deal for Sharp before Tuesday's transfer deadline.
