Competent Roofers in Doncaster - Help!
« on February 02, 2012, 12:54:18 pm by Thinwhiteduke »
Almost like a BBC DIY SOS Appeal this - where's Nick Knowles when you need him?

Do any of you chaps on here know of a competent roofer who can diagnose a problem without ripping me off / letting me down?

Turning into a really shitty 18 months culminating where my Dads on deaths door with Throat Cancer, Ive recently spent a couple of nights in Hospital at the age of 37 with severe Chest pains which they can only put down to stress.

But worse than all this is my little girl cannot sleep in her own room due to an incessant banging from the pitched roof even in quite mild winds, (yes we have looked at the tiles they all look fine, I cannot see anything visiually wrong but Im no expert). There is also a damp smell in the same room following heavy rain and her room is significantly colder than anywhere in the house - basically uninhabitable.

Someone has mentioned it may be a roof pitch issue with wind getting under the tiles, lifting / dropping them again, with the propsect of driving rain being able to get underneath because the pitch may be too low. This section of the house is an extension that is only 4 years old (the builder no longer trades - a casualty of our financial times).

What I really need is someone reliable, and who knows what they are talking about, to come along, look at the roof, get on it, tell me what the issue is, what it will cost to get it put right and then I can move forward with as little stress as possible. Cannot take much more of it to be honest.

Obviously I would prefer to use local traders/ someone on here if anyone is in that game and can help out.

Help! Anyone?

My dad owns a roofing company and has been there for 40 years - Jarvis and Womack Ltd in Manvers, a very reputable company.

Here's their website:
