one of doncasters most famous ghost is that of former pa announcer Ken Avis, his spectre is often seen wandering round the old Belle Vue rubble with a microphone in hand. Local resident Hilda Brown claims that Avis's ghost once decided to sit himself at her dinner table, and hurled the following comment at her and her terrified budgie.. can all patrons please refrain from smoking in the living room.

Another witness is that of police constable Butler..he states.. On 12 March 2011 at approximatly 11.34 am, i boarded the cantley to doncaster bus. Once on the top deck i retreated to the back to sit down and read my comics. I noticed a white male sitting directly to my right who i now know to be Ken Avis, after constantly oberserving the male foe 30 mins I noticed something was not right as i could see through him, I have applied to the cps for Avis to receive an ASBO, as not to scare, the public of doncaster.

Must have been an observant copper if it took him 30 minutes to realise that you can see through a ghost. I get the feeling that someone's taking the mick with these stories!

Ken's voice has mysteriously been heard over the tannoy at the Keepmoat when there isnt a game on shouting ' Thats f***ing offside ref'

Why on earth did that man stay on the bus for 30 minutes? It takes about 8-10 minutes in traffic to get from the racecourse to the interchange! I think we should get a team together and go ghost hunting down at Belle Vue, might be able to spot some other ex-Rovers spectres! Let's face it, there's nothing else going on at the ground at the moment.
