The Morrisons Stand Off
« on March 06, 2012, 02:25:41 pm by CusworthRovers »
Might just be for the Morrison users this one.

When you're leaving the car park and heading towards the little roundabout. You know, the one that as a NO ENTRY sign x 2 at the beginning (obviously this doesn't come into play as you leave the bays and onto the road. It's just to stop people coming into the car park that way). However, these [strike]morons[/strike], [strike]lazy bas**rds[/strike], [strike]f**kwits[/strike], 'I'll drive where the f**k I like regardless of other people and the highway code' types are clearly intent on not driving a further 40yds to enter the car park and want to enter via the no entry sign and to the inconvenience of those coming out.

3rd time I've got into a Mexican Standoff over the years, only this morning probably broke my pb for endurance.

This mornings pb was around 1220, incase you were there. I think I managed 74 seconds.

I was coming out and this stroker wanted to come in via the no entry and into my path. Now I moved my car slightly more wider to prevent any illegal entry. However this caused him to wait and stop still on the mini roundabout.

He began to gesture (friendly at this stage) for me to come out.
I gestured back pointing at the no entry signs (equally friendly at this stage)
He again gestured for me to come out (albeit more vehemently)
I shrugged my shoulders and held my hands out (French style)
He then broke out into an almighty tirade that I couldn't hear, but I lip read the term 'prick'
I wound my window down and shouted that I couldn't hear what he had to say

....by this stage car were beeping behind me

He then reversed back and began to gesture at me and let out another tirade of abuse, only he refused to look me in the eye. He then drove further on like he should have done to get in the car park.

I went about my journey feeling like Davy Crockett

I thought I was the only one who did this.

Sometimes when I'm bored I loiter near said roundabout just for the fun of it.

We're proud a' you
We're proud a' you
We're proud a' you
We're proud

...bet if you had been 10 seconds later the person in question would have entered that way and gone straight to the Disability parking spots as well I bet .... despite I am assuming there being nothing (physically) wrong with them

Don't get me started on the misuse of the disability parking as well as parent and baby  parking slots.

Some people are really inconsiderate idle t**ts. It's the very state of this nation, unfortunately.

While we are at it (although not indicative of today's society):

The Aisle blockers.

I'm pushing my trolley along nicely and at a decent pace to be fair, being considerate to user Aisle users and passing trolleys. I then turn the corner onto (tins, toiletries or any section) and then you see immediately the gossipers. 2 trolleys together and right on the end of the aisle with no warning it was coming. There's a huge queue behind them and it's caused major roadwork delays on the corner junction in front of them that I've just come round.

They make no attempt to move and everyone is moving round them or lifting a trolley full of shopping over their heads to carry on their business.

Gusset sniffers, the lot of em

You seem to have become semi civilised since moving away from the dark ages in Thorne :P

You are dead right again - although I suppose I started it !

Sainsburys Thorne will be a typical place to see inconsiderate action. Lots of people just park right there at the front of the Store in the Disability Bays instead of the usual Car Parking spots. They ignore spots that would mean a walk (to them) of an extra 20 yards and I would say it being a smaller Shop / Car Park that the MAXIMUUM leg stretching needed if you parked as far from the door as possible would be less than an Ikeme Goal Kick

What pray do they care if a Disabled person wants the space in which they have parked and what are the Stores going to do about it. I have seen lately ASDA Goole and this Car Park are trying to \"enforce\" the 2 Hour parking rule - though this is a low tech option of having a bloke take a photo as soon as you enter or \"Car spotting\" with a book and pen .... so why not get HIM to check whether a Blue Badge is displayed as cars enter and direct them elsewhere if not

Trouble is the Stores dont want to alienate customers and the bloke would probably get t****ed anyway

If cars are parked in disabled bays with no disabled badge, even in a supermarket car park, then clamp them I say....a £60 release fee should dissuade further problems on that score.

Same to be honest for those who choose to straddle two bays, usually because they are so morbidally obese they cant get in and out the car, though often through pure laziness.

... or because she couldn't reverse into the space properly ;)

Whilst we're at it, I work in Thorne and often pop into that Sainsburys and it is often filled with useless bar-stewards who do not have the capability to use a self service checkout. They take a half filled trolley and try to get it all onto the scanned bay. If they're not doing that it takes them 10 minutes to scan, pack and pay for 2 items.

If that's not bad enough, some also decide to go with a basket full of goods and to the nicotine counter, often filling me with rage as surely it should be fags/lottery only.

In saying that, there never seems to be any urgency with the Sainsburys staff.

The craziest is Tesco's in Edenthorpe. NO SELF SERVICE?!?! the queues there are often ridiculous and I can see why I send Mrs JD on her own to do the weekly's!!

... Rant over!

I get mine delivered from Harrods for all the reasons described above.  Its pricy, but I wont die of hypertension or from a 20 minute tear up with some neanderthal.
