Okay then
« on April 07, 2012, 09:47:18 pm by Dare to dream! »
If we do go down and DS gets sacked or resigns who does everybody want? Im not botherd if DS is still with us i thik he has potential with the amount of playing experience he has and there isnt anyone else I really want. A few people saying lee Clarke but he couldnt get Hudersfield promoted with one of the best sides in the league and the most money spent, dont see how he could help us

Mark Robins, Mark Yates or Sean O'Driscoll.

I'd rather stick with Saunders for the full 3 years than have any of the following in charge; Penney, Clark, Megson, Keegan, Blackwell, Laws.

PAUL TISDALE!! He should be in charge, should've gone for him to replace SO'D... He'll manage in the Premier League, mark my words!

I'd take Megson and Keegan over Saunders. If we were to sack Saunders I'm certain that Keegan would not be in the running for the job, however.

Yes please, but no chance. Mark Robins would be my second choice.

I'd be gobsmacked if we sacked DS we haven't got the money to pay him off simple as

Since when has that been a prerequisite for managerial success? A good player does not make a good manager.

Mark Robins is a good shout and probably a realistic suggestion.

Somebody who can build a team up to challenge
Somebody who has experience of what is needed
Somebody who has done it before
Somebody who knows what he's doing
Somebody who the chairman trusts and believes in
Somebody who can spot a good player and raise his profile/value
Somebody who plays football the way it should be played

Somebody Of Distinction

I don't think I'd want any of the people suggested in this thread. Especially not Mark Bobbins.

SO'D is a totally unrealistic choice, he'd never come back to us. Cant say i'd blame him either.

PAUL TISDALE!!

Oh sorry for not rating Mark Bobbins, and not wanting to take a step back by appointing a former manager.

Just my opinion on who is out of work (we cant afford compo), who might live local, who would consider a job at a cash strapped club.

I cant think of many others unless you rate Brian Laws..

Mourinho would be good though, you've gotta admit.

I sometimes see a tramp laid outside Mothercare... I'd rather the club employ him than Brian Laws.

No, I don't rate Brian Laws.

And I agree, there aren't many managers who would be available to us at this time. Perhaps that may change at the end of the season. If not, we could consider giving the manager we've already got a crack at it. I'm aware that won't go down too well on here, but he did have a very difficult task on his hands from day one.

For me most of the "names" in here are either unrealistic or no better / worse than what we have. Pretty scary really should we be looking for a new manager at some time in the near future.

Honest question, do you believe Saunders is a better manager than Paul Tisdale?

He was given a job by a Championship club - Paul Tisdale wasn't, even the club he played for didn't approach him.

Just had a flick through LMA website, some names that popped up are:
Alan Irvine
Billy Davies
Phil Brown
George Burley
Martin Allen
Lee Clark

I don't think DS will leave, he'll want to stay and prove his worth, and we probably can't afford to sack him. Not sure who I'd want if he went though...

I would give martin allen the job now and ask him to make the team competitive in league one for next season. if he keeps us in the championship then he has performed a miracle. if we go down, then so what??????? we would have gone down under S.O.D and the current clown anyway.
