My solution would have been to keep SOD and if we got relegated so be it (I don't believe it was a foregone conclusion that we would have gone down). We'd have had a far better chance of re-grouping and re-building in League One under his guidance if we had gone down. Under Saunders the Conference beckons. Simple.

Here's another alternative:

Accept SOD had come to the end of his time. Part company.

Interview and appoint a manager with a proven track record in the Football League.

Should we still have been relegated then at least we have a decent shot at stabilising in League One with an experienced manager.

Doesn't sound too unreasonable to me.

Have you been living in a cave?

2 directors have withdrawn their funding.
We have had to reduce the wage bill.
How much do you think a proven manager would have cost.

It obviously hasn't worked but get your head out of the sand and look at reality.

Is it more or less than the £5m+ that relegation with an unproven manager will cost?
