We had this problem at work.

BBC wouldn't pick up on channel 1. If it's a digi-box try looking further up the channels. I might be in the very high numbers, try them all as it might be there. his does unfortunately mean sifting through the hundreds. But if it finds it then it's worth it!

Try looking at channel 11 or 12 (cant remember exactly) what jonnydog is saying happens to us BBC1 yorkshire ends up on a different channel and you get BBC1 outer mongolia on c1 best time to look which bbc1 you have got is when the local news is on

We were watching a play off match in the pub the other night when the aerial went on the blink just as the game was getting exciting.

A local engineer climbed on the roof and fixed it. He got a good reception....
....Can't remember his name though.

Since the digital switchover began last year this is not an uncommon problem, especially if you have more than one digital box (whether built in or not) in your home.

On the digital box try channels 801 and 802, BBC should be there.

Just asking, do you receive any other BBC channels on your digibox such as CBBC, Cbeebies, BBC News and BBC Parliament? If you do then BBC 1 and 2 will definitely be on channels on 801 and 802, if not then delete all the channels and re-scan...

Keep us informed...

They're the ones I found them on, 801 and 802. I knew it was in the high hundreds but couldn't remember for definite.

Aye, we had this problem at my dads and reverted to using the 800+ channels. Until the problem suddenly fixed itself and all the 800 channels disappeared! We assumed it was because the house was situated at near equidistance between Emley Moor and...that other big signal mast in the other direction, the name of which escapes me currently.

Was the other one Belmont?
I had this problem in Bradford.
The guy who had previously fitted a booster and splitters for me said that we had a local transmitter at Wrose.
This was being picked up for channel 1 and two but the signal wasn't strong enough meaning bbc1 and 2 were then ignored  with a stronger signal as they were already there. He fitted a  blocker to  ignore the Wrose transmitter and now works fine.
Did cost £72 though. :(

It could be a signal problem as we have two aeriels, one picking up Emley Moor and one picking up Belmont and with you being just down the road it may be the same.  A guy on Castle Hills Road sorted ours out.
