I think it shows a government prepared to listen and change its mind if a good case can be made. Well done George.

Hopefully now George has got these three small matters out of the way, hopefully he'll turn his mind to the key issue of restoring the 50% tax rate for those earning over £150k

All depends on your opinion yes you could say that or you could also say that the budget was ill thought out " oh thats a good idea lets do it" cavalier attitude and only when it comes under proper scrutiny they realise its totally impracticle.

yer pays yer money and takes yer chance

A couple of things on this, did anyone else see ITV news at 10pm.

They were well miffed, someone from the governments PR team told ITV to ask a question about the Chartiy tax relief level, which they did and got a real scoop which they thought was the big news.
At exactly the same time as Leveson was revealing the texts between Hunt and Osbourne about the Sky bid.
ITV were well p*ssed off about being played, to deflect attention from Leveson. However why do they need to be told to ask a question I thought they were journalists...

Why have they done the U turn, because the lobbyists for the super rich have convinced them it is a bad idea.

No, it was because they were told by the charities who are supposed to be pushing out the governments main policy of 'the big society' (strange how we hear very little about it now) that a high proportion of their funding would dry up if millionairies did not have an incentive to give their money away.

There are rumours that the government have skipped the skip tax. If they have, then it is yet another example of the government 'listening' and changing their minds. Once again, well done George.

I read today that so far the government has done 28 u turns. If that doesn't show a government that is prepared to listen to the people and change its mind I don't what does. You're playing a blinder Dave and George.

On the other hand........................it shows a government that hasn't a clue what its doing and got it wrong 28 times, anyway on ITV this morning they said 34 u turns

I've got a George Osbourne themed Sat-Nav

All it says is, "In three days time, do another U-turn".

The NHS needs drastic reform. Under Labour it was an 'unseen slaughterhouse' with the amount of hospital acquired infections going through the roof and killing loads of people unnecessarily.

I`m surprised that whatever mental institution you reside at allow you to use the internet unsupervised, or were you put on Cow & Gate straight away?

a fair few 20 second post`s from you on this thread Mick, that`s not like you, have you ran out of copy and paste material?

Anyway, is n`t Saturday your biggest gambling day of the week? should you really be on here wasting valuable gambling time? that was your excuse last week when you were struggling to find something to copy and paste!

I've begun to realise that people on this forum don't seem to have a very long attention span. I have to be honest even though my attention span is second to none, even I was finding myself falling asleep reading some of Billy's posts. I've decided to try and do shorter posts with as few big words as possible in an effort to become better understood.

As far as gambling goes I made a fortune last Saturday and can afford to ease of now until Euro 20 2 starts where there is another fortune to be made (not that I need the money, it's just a bit of fun).
