It's a while since we had a captain like this . When I heard his latest interview on Player ... you just knew he was the leader on the field . Bremner esque !

plus its nice to see some passion when he scored the second goal on tuesday
he was great on tuesday and he was really helpful to husband always giving him tips
but also praising when he did things well

for me hands down the best signing we have made this season and probally the best signing since sharp

The main thing i've noticed is how the Corporal roars instructions out to the other defenders, hopefully this will make an impact on our defending and be a major improvement on last year.

The way he got rolled for the McClean goal was poor though.

That's true but we can't expect perfection at our level and so far the big fella has been immense. I particularly like the way both he and McCombe who lets be fair lack a sec or two in the speed department have used their experience and reading of the game to counteract the speed of all the little nippy strikers we've come up against so far, and the last two games have been as stern a test as you would like.

Both executed in grand fashion, keep it up fellas.

Well although i like his commitment, passion and willing to bark orders and orgainise, and he gets on the end of most things by hook or crook.

Can he head and can he kick  :chair:

I would say he mops up, the ball could land anywhere really.

Just an observation so keep ye Knickers on.

To be fair,  I think when he has time he can play a bit. When he is under pressure he is from the "just get something on it"  school.

Nothing much wrong with that at this level.

I go with that Rob.
Makes a refreshing change to see players with a bit of Bollox, weve had far too many pretty player types for way too long.

You have to accept players will have a few flaws at this level, otherwise they wouldn't be here. Top signing in my view, I'd much rather support (and accept any limitations of) Jones, Syers and Paynter than be saddled with (and tolerate the intermittent efforts of) Beye, Diouf and Piquionne. The team has something to connect with again this season, and you get the sense that all the players want the same things again.

Spot on Jon.   And there is no doubting the harmony amongst them. Aside from everyone celebrating the goals the other night,  no-one was moaning at anyone else even at 0-2.
