His wages were too high for them and I think he refused to take a pay cut.

They altered the training times under Graham Westly and Hume could not pick his kids up from school. Hume's wife then called Westly a w**ker, is what they are saying.

His wife's not a liar

With regard to Westley and his training schedule that would make sense.  I know a couple of lads who played under him at Stevenage and they always started training in the afternoon, in order to allow Westley to focus on his business interests outside the game, namely a contract  for cleaning the tube.
I couldn't possibly comment on the how trustworthy Mrs Hulme is, although she is obviously a fine judge of character- alllegedly.

Wasn't Westley the same manager who sent a text message to all of his team telling them who was playing in the middle of the morning.

Is "cleaning the tube" a euphemism like "polishing one's trumpet" or "smacking the pony?"

Jesus wept. Only on reading that story did I realise that Westley and Ridsdale are both at Deepdale.

Did some inhabitant of Preston rape the Virgin Mary or summat in a previous life? I'm struggling to think how evil they must have been to bring that level of bad karma down on them.

He will be an excellent signing IMO, Dean Saunders seems to be very good at picking out a player that's for sure.

That's not a euphemism.

This is a euphemism.
