So with Copps going, how many signings tonight? Surely his wages cover 3 players in and if we were under budget with Copps surely we will use his wages up?

What i also dont understand is yes they might be lined up but will terms have been agreed and medicals passed? Doesnt leave us much time if not.

to make it worth while players coming in are a must! otherwise letting our longest serving player go was pointless!  :suicide:

How can we be potless when we turn down a major bid for Kyle Bennett? Dear me!

My point was we were under budget WITH copps.

If he is going we have wages to play with.

I'm not sure where you got that from, that's not my understanding.

We were reportedly 1 mil over budget before Hume came in

Got it from this guy on twitter;

Paul Goodwin þ@paulgoodwinDFP
DS under no pressure to sell Coppinger - he's under budget. Choice is whether to bring in 2/3 players at expense of Copps, if bid comes in.

In fairness we could do with one or two in tonight, BUT we do still have the loan window.  My worry is over the defence if one or two get injured we have problems given Martis is never fit.

Hopefully someone comes in tonight but it wouldn't be the end of the world, we need a smaller squad this year and then have our youth players as back ups too.  EG the strikers IMO we need 4 plus then given a month or two away Jordan Ball should start to get some kind of chance.  Same at the back, Wakefield and Husband are for me now full first team players.

Gavin Baldwin told the free press we are now under budget and Saunders isn't under pressure to sell anymore.

1 out 1 in today, so far. Replacements are lined up, and with Copps going we can increase the numbers.

Think medicals can be done after contract is signed.. Subject to medical

Watched a sky sports news special on what happens in a medical the other day.

Not a quick thing.

It depends, there is no standard medical only what the signing club insist on.

Loans don't require medicals, and you can sign someone without a medical if you so desire, you just have to clarify it in the contract. But medicals can be done at other clubs as long as it is carried out by a DRFC official medical personel. So we could for example carry it out at our club or at the club where the player is coming from (sending the personnel over to do the medical). Clubs get round it, look at Man City sgning Robinhio with minutes to go...

He may have done, but that wasn't my conversation. I know the figure was already about £750k above what we wanted it to be with regard to the budget although the board have been cutting Deano some slack.

I think the budget issue is about wages, not how much transfer money in or out?

If Copps is going on a 6 month loan. Is that why we have signed Hume for 6 months? The wages from Copps will that allow two or three 6 month loans. Dean did say if Copps went he could bring in 3 / 4 players so we will wait and see. Loans after the deadline can only be 91 days so lets see what happens.

We're saving on his wages which is the point
