Rate the Ref averages so far...
« on October 04, 2012, 11:58:06 pm by Mr1Croft »
The highest rated ref so far with an average score of 3.5 is Chris Foy from Coventry last season. While the lowest rated is Dean Whitestone from the Preston game this week with an average rating of 0.67.

The average score of our refs out of 14 different games is 1.85, which means if you factor in that this is based on only asking the DRFC fans from these games (and thus being biased) then its not far from the 2.5 average that you would expect.

Why would you expect a 2.5 average? The refs in this league are mostly shocking, so I would expect a lower than 2.5 avg

I don't think we should come to expect a 2.5 but it is given that referees and not perfect but if 5 is the greatest and 0 the lowest how bad would a ref have to be, to be below average? Lets assume that if we had 6 different refs they would all each score a 5,4,3,2,1,0, so which ones were below average? That's where ,2.5 comes from as the given average a ref should aim for at least.

But if the average ref has less than average reffing ability, the average won't be 2.5.

Rob, it was merely assumption. Basically the aversage of our refs is 1,85 which means it is below my assumed average. But as this is only taken from a sample that is more likely to take one side of how the ref performed, and factor in that the refs have mainly been poor then 1.85 is not much worse then what we should come to expect.
