Paynter red card

I hope the club are going to appeal it, disgraceful decision and ultimately cost us all 3 points!

Not sending their keeper off was just as bad a decision. Terrible.

:facepalm:Happened right in front of me, Painter kicked the other player while he was on the ground well after the ball had gone. Violent conduct. Straight red. No complaints. He should have known better, simple as that!

As far as I could see Their goalie didn't even get booked for that challenge yet our player got booked for their penalty that wasn't even a penalty and that has been confirmed by several. united fans. If their goalie had been sent off we would have won easy.

He got a yellow, but should have got a straight red for DOGSO

Paynter was tugged, pushed and generally manhandled all game without a yellow in sight. Their keeper should have been sent off and from what I've heard so should have Paynter......one the ref got right and the other one he bottled and bottled badly.
However we should have been long out of sight by then by at least four goals. The substitutions imo had no bearing whatsoever on the final result but the officials definitely did.

Yes,But did Paynter deserve to be fouled 10-12 times without the opposition getting a single yellow card?

i agree with your points about Paynter he got battered and very little protection, but the thread title indicates we are talking about the red card

I did'nt see the incident ck-rtid,but yes,if its true he kicked a player while on the ground, then it was right to send him off.Just get mad that the Ref was inconsistant.

from where i was sitting it looked like the Blunt's player had hold of Paynters leg and Billy kicked out to try and get him off, unfortunately it is a red card for violent conduct, as soft as it was.

I saw the same, he had hold of his legs, I was expecting the ref to book their player and he sends Paynter off.

Paynter actually did win a number of free kicks today but that just shows how often he was getting fouled. If he really did kick out at their player then he's silly to lose his head. That red cost us the game.

I think he was just trying to shake their player off. I don't think there was that much aggression in it, and I certainly wouldn't go as far as to say it was a stamp.

Surprise Surprise   Wilson  reckons both were stonewall penalties but he didn't see the sending off incident  :woot:

"In my opinion I thought they were both stonewall penalties and maybe they thought they had the game won. But I thought we had a foothold in the game even before the sending off, which I can't comment on because I didn't see the incident

The ref turned around just as Paynter sharply moved his foot to free himself from the tangle of legs. He probably then guessed what happened and couldn't wait to get the old red card out. Cheers ref.

Seen the Paynter red card on sky and I must have missed something because there player just dives randomly to the ground, if thats what he's given it for it is an absolute disgrace.

"Doncaster Rovers lose appeal"??

Err, their centre back who was marking Paynter got booked for persistent fouling...

I think he's referring to #32 Kennedy, who never got booked.
In fact neither of their center backs got booked, according to sky sports:  http://www1.skysports.com/football/live/match/262996/teams

If the camera didn't capture the incident (or non-incident) then sadly we'll do very well to win the appeal I'd fear. If the ref sticks to his guns and there's nothing to show he made a mistake then it could well be upheld :(

I see they still can't be bothered to update the strips of players, apparently Woods still playing for Man U.......remind me how long has he been with us.
All the money and resources that Sky have you would think they could update every now and then. Reporting of course biased against the smaller club........no change there then.

Deano says he has seen it on video so it must have been caught on camera.
