Martis

Is he going to get a chance this season? McCombe is awful, always nervous when he has the ball, Martis isn't as tall but has more pace about him. Martis is a good defender Peterborough away last season? And has plenty of prem experience

Hardly plenty of prem experience. And saying McCombe is awful is harsh despite his poor displays today and at bury.

McCombe can't run or kick

We can't have both McCombe and Jones on the same pitch at the same time both bury and Walsall ran rings round them

I'm no fan of Martis but he's got to be ahead of McCombe, he is f**king toss although the main problem for me is centre mid, I've got a springer spaniel at home that can run after the ball & do f**k all & he'll do it for a lot less than Harper.
Is Husband injured? If fit I'd play him at left back & move Spurr into the middle.
For me only Copps & Spurr are good enough for the level above, Cotterill is a show pony & 1 good game in 5 isn't good enough, roll on Tuesday need to bounce back  & MK are probably the best team (Portsmouth apart) to play right now.

Why would you ever start Martis when he hasn't proven he can play 90 minutes this season? He breaks down after a couple of games and then you're left with McCombe and no cover. Keep him on the bench in case of emergencies.

Hubby was on the bench today. As I said today I'd feel much better with Hubby at LB and Spurr with Jones.

I said way back that I wasn't too happy with the McCombe/Jones combo and be much happier with Spurr at centre half woth Husband at full back but, it's hard to argue for it when we've been getting results and being strong at the back.

I think we've got problems in other positions that need attention.

The holding midfielder is one of the worst positions to play in,when things are going well, nobody notices you've done well, the goalscorers get the credit, even though you are doing the donkey work behind them, and when the team loses, who is the first to get blamed, the holding midfielder,Keegan isn't a special footballer,he doesn't stand out,but maybe the players in front of him were not performing, his job is to win the ball and give it to the better players,if they are not doing anything with it,it in turn makes him look bad.

On Martis,it seems to me they are just running his contract down, because they can't afford to pay him off,and they don't trust him injury wise,he is a good centre-half better than McCombe,no doubt about it,but they just can't take the risk,it's a shame, without injuries at this level he is class, for me McCombe and Jones are susceptible to pace,Jones has to be in the team on performances,we could do with a loan centre-back,who is a bit quicker.

I agree with a few others.  I'd have

Husband - Spurr - Jones - Quinn

McCombe is alright IMO. He's been poor the last two games, but he's been consistently good all season when he's played.

Which isn't often, considering he had 3 months out.

16 league starts, two bad games. Hardly makes him awful, does it?
