Job done by the Referee today.
« on February 09, 2013, 07:30:34 pm by Thinwhiteduke »
Seriously. I'm sure he got the result he wanted in the end.

That Guy seemed to take every opportunity to be as difficult with us as he possibly could today.

 - Every 50/50 given in Walsalls favour.

 - Had to wait every time we won a free kick, or pulled back when we took it quickly, but fine for Walsall to take every one of theirs as and when they felt like it.

 - Downright pedantic with yardage with free kick/ throw ins with Rovers yet fine for Walsall to gain on most occasions.

 - Blatant penalty turned away in full view of this pillock and his 'assistants'.

Now, I know we didn't play to our potential, but this fool didnt half disrupt the game...how I hate referee's that seem to be on some form of Ego trip.

Seemed very fishy to me, just the absolute one - sidedness of it all. You'd think the Football League officials would take a look at him...but I bet they don't.

One image I can't get out my head is when  the entire Walsall team were celebrating their 2nd in front of the south stand, this little sod seemed to be stood there with a great big daft smile on his face. Didnt try to hurry them up. Just stood there smiling.

Had a problem with the penalty, I think when Brown was blatantly pulled back in the area the ref still had Cotts' dive in the back of his mind and decided not to give it. I also noticed how pedantic he was with yards as well.

Yep....I noted that as well.

Too many events involving that Ref were far too coincidental and repeatedly gave the advantage to Walsall today.

Is there any scope for the Club to bring it to the Football Leagues attention, or would it just be viewed as sour grapes?

He had to mark out each wall about 12 yards away to make up for his shortcomings in the height department.

The hand ball he misssed was laughable, and allowing play to play on after the blatant foul on Fowler (from which they nearly scored) was a joke.

Totally useless.

I'm sick and tired of getting the biggest clowns on the league list week after week. The Brown penalty incident was as blatant as they come and the foul on Fowler which almost cost us a goal was just downright ridiculous.

Me too . That penalty was as blatant as they come in full view of the officials, players, commentators and the whole crowd. You have to wonder what's happening in light of all these betting scams !!

As I've said elsewhere, the worst referee I've seen since the infamous Mr Russell.

There should be a new rule for referees....

They have to be able to play to a certain standard and PROVE it.

So, pre-match, they demonstrate their skills by doing 25 keep ups.

Someone shouted behind me 'come on ref we're not here to watch you' which I thought was very apt. Surely the referees association should explain to them that they shouldn't be the focus of attention? Ego tripping if you ask me.

Pedantic prick also springs to mind!

FFS , the ref was sh#te yes,  but come on we couldn't pass or tackle today , and in the end the team that wanted it the most , got it ,end of.
You could see their winner coming 10mins before they scored it.
I'm sick of seeing us starting off on the back foot and letting the opposition  score with their first or second attack.
today Walsall played us off the the park for the 1st 10 mins.

P.S. We'll be blaming the pitch next, sh#t as it is.  :(

We didn't lose at all because of the referee but it needs pointing out that he was ridiculously inept. It was the most blatant case of favouritsm I've seen all season and whilst it doesn't quite match Mr. Russell's performance in April it was still a total shambles.

The best/worst example of a crap decision that I remember from yesterday was a Rovers player (sorry, can't remember who) who had his back to goal being given offside WHILE BEING PUSHED IN THE BACK. I still can't work that one out.

You dont sit in the South West corner, do you?  If so, those would have been my dulcet tones.

The thee main things I don't like is

1.players celebrating to long like Saturday think after 30 seconds the other team should be able to kick off no matter where others are on the field and you see all the time they will walk back towards the own half then walk straight through the centre centre to hold the game up longer

2.the keeper holding onto for 10 seconds plus like they have done excessively the last 2 games before they kick it out their hands, fans picked up on it at bury and started counting maybe should be the more often and try to rush them.

3.players shielding the ball out for a goal kick without even trying to play the ball once the player moves in one direction that should be it anywhere else on the field it would be a free kick

I've been saying that for ages, only I'd let them kick off after 10 seconds...!

Also, regarding time-wasting, when time is being deliberately wasted I'd allow the referee be able to add on DOUBLE the amount of time wasted to the end of the game. As it stands, there's no disincentive at all to wasting time so teams are going to carry on doing it.

Yeah there is ment to be 30 seconds died on for each goal and same for each substitution but rarely do they add on the full amount.also the ball is only actually in play for about a hour at most during a game

I've never understood how defenders are allowed to shield the ball as they do to let it run for a goal kick. Whatever happenned to "obstruction" ???
