« on March 19, 2013, 11:46:35 pm by RedJ »
Just got into the ereader craze.

Anyone have any recommendations (as the title suggests)? Preferably free (of which there seem to be a fair amount), true to form

I've got a Kindle Fire HD but I think if I was buying again I'd just go for the normal Fire, the screen is the same size but the surround is a lot bigger on the HD making it a bit more awkward. On a 7 inch screen you can barely tell the difference between HD and non-HD anyway, and the non-HD model is £30 cheaper I think.

They have just released a bigger model though with a 9 inch screen I think, that starts at £229 so might be worth looking at that if you want to watch films on it.

As for the books, just go on Amazon and look at the top 100 charts, for paid and free. That's what I did and got a few free ones and a few that were only 20p each. Amazes me that sometimes the Kindle versions are more expensive than print versions, Amazon must be making an absolute killing!

Forgive my pure stupidness, but is the difference between the Kindle Fire and the Kindle Fire HD JUST the HD bit?? :s
