How on earth can David Cotterill be left out? 10 goals and 17 assists this season. Rob Jones would have also been a fair inclusion but defenders are very rarely recognised in these sort of things.

I will be very disappointed if they aren't in the team of the year.

The players of each club always used to be asked to vote in January.

They start the voting in January yeah. It's stupid. Should be done at the end or at least near the end of the season. Paddy Madden didn't start scoring goals until October but surely he'd be a good shout now. Cotterill should be in consideration too for sure.

Clarke is terrible. Cotts has lots of assists and goals but he's not looked that good in general play. Until recently Jones has been our best player I think.

Leon Clarke is there because of his goals,Ritchie was good for Swindon but not done anything dince been at Bournemouth and judge is by far notts county's best players so no doubt stands out most matches for them

Thing is, "open play" means nothing. For me, Cotterill could put in his usual quota of assists and then sit down in the centre circle and smoke a fag until home time. He's that good and has that much of an impact. He's like all the things Coppinger could have been.

I agree to a degree, Ben.  I think if you got one of those teleportation machines from The Fly, and chucked Copps and Cotts in, you would get one hell of a player out the other end.

Copps' workrate, ability to pull a dropping ball out of the sky, first touch, coupled with Cotts' crossing, long range shooting.  Magic.
