Especially in that bottom tier? An original cow shed! Will be a great atmosphere none the less! :scarf:

If we do same at Brentford as we did at Crewe I can see that thing crumbling.

Drummer in the top tier apparently. Hope we can create a decent atmosphere on the terrace too!

I went a few seasons ago in FA cup, the terracing is small so I expect it to be proper shoulder to shoulder stuff with 1200 of us in bottom tier.

A pub on every corner of the ground as well, nice addition.

Lets just hope there arent any holes in the net!

Is there much point in taking the drum if its going to be in top tier? It will just ruin any chance of a decent atmosphere and I imagine thise that are in seating are probably going to be the ones less likely to sing, an atmosphere is more likely to come from the terracing.

That's what I thought when my mate first said, but he also says apparently a fair amount of people planning to sing will be up there too.

Scope for one of them little drums on the bottom?

But just because there is a few in the top tier (out of 600?) the drum should be with the majority of us in the terraces.

There is 1200 of us in the bottom tier, any noise we make is going to be drounded out by the drum above.

However there are 3 drums at the KMS, so there is no reason why one cant be took for bottom tier if needs be.

I agree with you, but if he wants to be up there that's down to him. Don't see the logic in it myself but there you go.

I'd say bring one of them along.

I hope not. I'm just going on what a friend told me at Crewe.

I hope I'm wrong, as there isn't much point in him being up in the seating. If it's true though I can imagine lack of space being the main reasoning behind the decision.

Erm.. maybe he fancied a sit down?

FFS, does it matter?  I can guarantee there will be 4 of us singing our hearts out in the top tier.

35 minutes on Piccadilly line from London KX to South Ealing station. No engineering works planned. 15 minute walk from above station.

much easier on the train 3 or 4 min walk from brentford train station which is directly behind the away end about 30 mins from waterloo

Was that the game that was snowed off and had to be played on the Tuesday? Freeeeezing night. I remember thinking how small the stand was that night, and there was only about 10 of us in there! Gonna be a quality atmosphere!

Somebody best make the lino checks the nets properly at Brentford. I remember Mark McCammon scoring there and the goal not being recognised as it squirted out through a hole in the net!!!!!!!!

Great view from the upper tier, but the bottom tier is like watching from inside a letter box.

Still, with a capacity crowd, should make for a good atmosphere.

P.S. Hope your 'Little Drummer Boy' turns up - against Pompey, the home fans had to enquire: "Where's the w**ker with the Bell?":P

bugger the away end - more to the point, what's the outlook for block B of the Bill Axbey stand  ;)

I'm in the lower tier. I realise that the view won't be as good, but when offered a choice between terracing and sitting down, there's no contest for me.

As the friendly locals like to point out: "If you can't talk proppah, shut your mouf"

Seriously, though, if you've got a ticket in the Brentford section, that's a bit naughty. And after Pompey last Saturday, neither Bees fans, nor the club, are likely to take at all kindly to your presence:

From the club CEO's Statement after the Portsmouth game:

“We believed by welcoming Portsmouth fans in to our away end and not restricting their movement around the town they would act accordingly.

“I am sad that we had a return to the days when fans would act in the manner they did on Saturday and I commend Brentford fans for not reacting to provocation and causing a larger problem.

“From now on, there will be a zero tolerance policy with regard to away supporters in home areas.

“This means any visiting supporter in the wrong area will be removed.

“We will also take their ticket from them and reserve the right to take action against any Brentford supporter buying a ticket for an away fan in a home area.

“Ejections from the ground are carried out by a security team or the police and are supervised by our CCTV system.

“Stewards are primarily in the ground for the safety and comfort of supporters, it is not their job to remove fans.

“In future, there will be more security staff in the ground for our high profile games.

It is such a shame that these days fans can't mingle.

I don't have an issue with non-home club fans sitting in the home end, provided they keep quiet, and behave as adults!  We welcome neutral fans don't we?

Agree entirely. But from the shape of some of the Pompey fans on Saturday, you'd probably sooner mingle with a shoal of Great White Sharks.

Anyhow, GP is normally a v.welcoming place for visiting fans, and would be for Donny, except that the club very nearly* got caught out by Portsmouth, so really can't afford to risk it again.

Shame (though you'll surely still be welcome in Brentford - town - generally)

* - Quite honestly, had Bees fans not been so shocked/elated by nicking the result with two goals in last 5 mins etc, there's a good chance some of them would have gone onto the pitch at the final whistle to confront the 2-300 Pompey yobs who did.
