Paul Goodwin has tweeted that his position will be clarified on Friday.

Hope he manages to keep his job at the Doncaster Free Press. He's doing a good job.

So if we appoint another manager how is he going to be able to decide who to keep/offer new contract to or who to release given that he won't be able to see them play

But you can only see what the camera shows you

Doesn't beat seeing them in the flesh

True, but better than nowt.  But also there'll be other staff retained to advise on continuity, especially if as many hope, BF will be retained as a director of football perhaps?

Wasn't the main reasoning for keeping Dean Saunders on as manager at the start of 2012/13; Give him a chance to show what he can do using his own crop of players rather than what he inherited?

Given the additions to the squad that Bryan Flynn has made since taking over - John Lundstram, Dean Furman - I think he has done more than enough to show that he merits the exact same treatment.

In terms of 'inexperienced for the Championship', its just another division and the key difference, as we found out in 2008-09 (aside from the obvious elements which managers can do nothing about such as money) is the necessity to take and prevent chances. Flynn will be more than aware of that pressure from his time spent managing the Welsh national sides at full and under 21 level.

I don't see how he can't be offered the job in all honesty. In view of the new parachute payments and the overall strength of the Championship anyway ts going to be a hell of a task keeping Doncaster in that division for more than a season. After Saturday there will be no manager more bouyant and enthused by that challenge at the moment than Flynn.

Give that man a contract
